your like an AFRICAN Barbie, your so sweet. I was going to relax or dread lock my hair, but I am empowered again- to keep my natural hair. No more wigs, no heat, lot of conditioning, moisturizing, sealing and definitely cutting my raggedy ends and knots. I tell you after doing this, I am able to braid my hair in a cornrows without snagging my hair. Imagine when I get into African thredding. Thank you so much

I don’t think the results were drastic enough to go with threading over banding when banding takes way less time just just about the same stretch lol so banding actually wins for me
@denyshadials57027 жыл бұрын
I actually love threading on wet/very damp hair. It gives me smoother results. However I would say don't do very large sections. I usually have 12-15 completely detangled sections when I thread wet hair.
@CravingCurlyKinks7 жыл бұрын
+Denysha Taylor Yes smaller sections will make it more manageable you are right.

African threading has been my stretching method for the past year, I feel the process gets faster as you get used to it. I have 4a, high dense/porosity, fine hair, so I use the LCO Method(L-water/aloe Vera mix, C-raw shea butter and O-JBCO/Argan/Vitamin E/Olive Oil mix) which prevents the drying effect after threading freshly wash hair..Great Video!!

The banding method would be more effective on loose vs twisted hair. Plus you had the bands far apart vs the thread. Banding works well for my hair..looks like a blow out when I'm done. Threading takes too long for me

+Fine Natural Hair and Faith Yeah I love using banding method too. It is alot easier.

Thanks for doing video.. beautiful. The banding method is definitely more convenient, but the African threading method seems more protective & slightly more stretch.
@lovinglanguages17 жыл бұрын
I love your video! I got turned on to African threading by another Ghana woman on here but never tried it until recently. I like the idea of the banding technique, because it is easy and a little bit quicker than using the African thread, but after using scrunchies to do it, it really is kind of a pain using so, so many scrunchies and having to pull so many out. I like the African Branding a lot better because you can control the tightness of the string, if you want to leave space between the threads for doing a simple twist out or if you just want to wrap and cover all the hair and you can actually do a protective style with the technique as well. Plus I like how you can feel your hair strength better, with the hair being wrapped with the thread versus the banding method. Thanks for the tip about wet hair! I have actually done it that way once before and didn't really affect my hair, but I don't want to risk it and I will take your advice and not do that again!
@CravingCurlyKinks7 жыл бұрын
+lovinglanguages1 For some textures that advice is irrelevant, if you don't experience matting and tangling when you do it on wet hair, I say keep on doing what works best for you. 😘

I do the banding method to at night to prevent my curls from swelling and shrinking as I sleep. I do one at the root of my hair and the other at my ends. My only thing I’ve thought about is whether or not it’s protecting my ends? Being that I keep a half inch out so my ends stay curly from my twist out.

Does either process damage your edges? It looks as if there’s a lot of tension on your edges. I think I want to try this but want to make sure.
@timtapp59312 жыл бұрын
Probably keep the first band(the one closest to your scalp/roots) loose, no tension. That way there's no stress on your head while the length of your hair is banded( not too tightly) away. Hope it works for you
@tinuke-mo1ke7 жыл бұрын
Do u stretch your hair in this manner after each wash day? So this is a two to three day process? Day one, wash hair and put in big braids to air dry. Day 2; unbraid then retwist and thread/ band. Day3 unravel then repeat in 2 wks?
@CravingCurlyKinks7 жыл бұрын
+Ladyt96 Ladyt96 Yes that's basically it. But I don't do that after every wash day. I mostly just do regular twist out or braid out.
