You say that there aren't any use cases for the slide rule any more, but I don't quite agree with that. One practical example is to use it as a converter. Since the principal idea of the tool is that the ratio between inner and outer scales is always constant, it can act as a currency converter, for example, and you don't even need to type in any numbers to do conversions. Say, if 1 Euro is 7.5 Danish crowns, you just set the rotating bezel so that 10 aligns with 75, and you have all conversions there. What is 4 euros in DKR? Look at 40 at the DKR scal, see it aligns with 30 on the other scale, and that means 30 (it is the correct magnitude, not 3 or 300). Or reverse, 550 DKR you would find at 55, correspoding to about 73 on the Euro scale. No exact numbers but good enough for a tourist to get an idea of a price when abroad. I'm missing one thing in Navitimer reviews like this: how accurate is the slide rule really? It would be easy to find out by setting it to a few simple ratios, like 2, 3 and 5, and check whether the numbers match as they should. I have seen comments that there may be noticeable slide rule inaccuracy in Navitimers. I have two cheap Navitimer imitations and their scales are not exact. And I managed to buy a practice tool (made of paper) that is delivered with Navitimers, and it is badly off. Ironically, it has the slogan "Instruments for professionals" printed on it.

Love the history! Your voice sounds a lot like Jeremy Strong’s character from Succession.

I reaaly dig the opening soundtrack of this video. Anyone knows the title of it?
That has to be the most patronising review I’ve watched in LOOONG time. Sure it’s a nice watch with rich history, and value is subjective…but maybe most people just can’t afford it. You might as well have said, ‘if you can’t afford it buy an F91W’.

This is kind of a reach. The channel's built around showcasing cool merchandise. Some of it is affordable, and some of it is luxury-tier. This product profile didn't seem to take a "holier-than-thou" attitude towards any of the other affordable watches presented on the channel. It just felt like a presentation of something cool that the guy was able to get his hands on.

Being unable to afford it doesn't detract your ability to appreciate it.

How is it patronising? I can't afford a Porsche 911 but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy a Porsche 911 review.
