that's normal in the drone business. you can buy the p4 and in less then 4-5months there will be a new and better one released. I mean, the release of the P3 is not more then 10months ago... this drone are coming out faster then smartphones

+Tyler Lyssy dw man i did the same thing but yes the p4 has got longer battery life and a tracking system but the p3 pro basically does everything else . for the p3pro: 1. get numerous batteries( i have got three and thats more than enough(bout 1hr and 10 mins) 2.i dont see any need for the p4 to have a more stable gimbal, the one on my p3pro works so well. and plus give it a year and dji will probs add the tracking thing as a firmware update for the p3 series. im just relived they didnt put a better camera on it, thats the only thing that would have pissed me off

In my opinion, it's an unfinished/rushed through product. Obstacle avoidance should be 360 degrees. Heck, even the design looks unfinished. Needed more work. Maybe they'll get it right next year...

Hey guys, thanks for the video. So you know, I just purchased a phantom 4 as my first drone. I am a film maker and am making a documentary from san diego to miami for 4 months. I bought this drone for SO many reasons, but mostly for all of it's automation. The reason I never bought a drone is because I knew I would crash it. Even though it isn't fully going to keep me from that, I am excited to use all of the automated flight paths so I can closely control the camera for my shots. This thing looks perfect. I will also be filming with the DJI Osmo, Sony RX100m4, GoProHero4, Nikon D800 and Nikon D4 ... and I am sure a few iPhone shots will make it in the mix as well. Can't wait to get my droneydrone!

Great first review! I own the Phantom 3 and really like the new features of the Phantom 4. However, I would guess that after one typical crash one or more of those sensors will be fried (too much to go wrong). Also the new identification follow me mode is limited in it's uses (most be only 1 moving object in view & correct lighting). Other problem is flight time. Certainly in Normal mode with reduced speed one would get 28 mins, but in Sport mode I'm guessing 8 mins less. I like the obstacal avoidance BUT I like to fly between objects and I would think I'd have to turn it off to accomplish this smoothly. In your next video can you also compare the P4 designed gimbal to that of the P3 for range of movement and smoothness of video. Thanks.

I am so stoked to own one of these drones. I also have re-built a few of them..I even re-build the gimbals. I know every screw and part and piece in these drones. Some of the calibration procedures are kind of tricky to get dialed. If you have Apple computers it should be a lot easier to do the calibration's. Super huge fan of these amazing Drones.

Hi Norm. Good Job! I would love to see/hear how you compare the Inspire 1 v2 with the Phantom 4. I was just about to pull the trigger on an Inspire when this announcement came out.
