Great video, honestly the best I’ve watched about new iPads. I decided to buy the 11” inch pro, as the screen quality is the same of the 13” inch, and I love that, with the old iPads I always used to buy the larger model just for the better display quality, like micro led. Finally Apple decided to give the same gorgeous display on both sizes 🎉

did you get to use the Apple Pencil on the nano texture display? what was it like? I draw, so if I got regular screen, should get a paper like protector, but I would be down to just get the nano texture glass and no protector if it was nice

Is there any other difference between standard glass and nano textured glass except the glare

Well, kind of. One aspect of avoiding glare is that the nano texture glass is a more muted image. I def prefer the standard glass.

I was ready to order the iPad Pro with the nano-texture glass until I viewed a review about Apple's Studio display that is also available with the same nano-textured glass. The reviewer showed that text does not appear crisp and solid resolution, it appears a bit blurry and 'scattered' ... which for me would be a serious drawback because I do a lot of reading on my iPad and need solid, high resolution text. So I changed my order to 'standard glass' ... and I'm quite sure this is a better choice. But I am hoping that when KZbin reviewers have the new iPad Pro's in their hands, that they will hopefully show a direct side-by-side comparison of both screens (especially comparing text) ... and also comparing these new OLED screens to the previous mini LED screens (which also have very respectable crisp resolution ... except for the 'blooming' issue when viewing white text on a solid black screen).

It will work on M1 and M2 iPads also! Just will be slower, but it'll work.

It used to be uncomfortable for me to use the 12.9-inch Pro in my hands for more than I dunno, 15 minutes. The new one feels SO much lighter.

The nano doesn't look better since it has a bit of a washed out look, but it definitely gets rid of glare that you'd get on the shiny version. If you aren't worried about glare, get the normal one for sure.

Which version of iPadOS is it running? Wasn’t a delay in changes to the OS one of the reasons for the release date being pushed back?

It’s the same version. I don’t expect to see anything new that really takes advantage of the M4 until next month at WWDC with iPadOS 18.

You do realize you get 16gb RAM with the 1TB and 2TB variations, right? M4 in the iPad Pros are not limited to 8gb.

New iPad Pro cons ▫️Apple removed the 2nd rear camera 🔸Apple removed 1 studio microphone 🔹Apple Pencil 2 won’t work with it 🔻Existing Magic Keyboard won’t work with it 🔺The M4 chip in the 256 and 512 GB models is a binned one with lower CPU and performance cores than getting an 1T or 2T model which has the fully unlocked M4 chip.

Great summary. Many “out of left field” iPad features now make more sense after the AVP. “Shadows”provide depth and make objects appear to be moving in 3D space. I know your fellow creators will post fresh “tech bro” talking points about the iPad Pro not being pro enough. It’s a whiny and selfish complaint mostly about their own photography and videography needs. Many PROFESSIONAL Illustrators, medical, designers musicians, various artists use this device and pro apps for touch and pencil inputs. MacOS on iPad would diminish that functionality. Why don’t they instead ask for touch and pen support for the MAC? Like Windows 8!

I was a little disappointed watching the presentation online. Not because of the content, but I really feel like Apple should release these presentations in 3D for the Vision Pro owners. They use so much CGI imagery it seems like it wouldn't be difficult to adjust it for 3D, and you cannot tell me they don't have 3D cameras to film the live sections with.

I never called this a review. The title specifically says "hands-on" and in the video I say "my review is coming very soon." However, I was able to use the iPad Pro for about 50 minutes, the Air for about 50 minutes, the Pencil Pro for 30 minutes, and the keyboard for about 40 minutes, each while in briefings with the product managers of the respective products. I think I should have enough time with each to be able to make a 6-minute video that gives an overview of the event and their respective features. If you don't, I'm not sure why you're watching - just wait for the full reviews to drop.
