Late to the party! How fantastic hearing how you got started and for sharing all the beauty and fun things you've stitched. I remember going into a cross stitch store in Provo when I was 16 and my jaw dropped. I didn't know so many patterns existed! And now, it's this amazing community and so many patterns, and we connect and laugh and build lasting memories, all because we love to put needle and thread to fabric. Blessings!

Your "Evening in the Park" is gorgeous!!! I had to pause and go look it up, it is still available with updates also available. The pattern is sold in 12 increments for 40.00 euros ea. Obviously an overseas company. The design was first introduced in 2005 as a mystery stitch.

I came across your channel today. You do beautiful stitching! We have several things in common, an under the bed box of finished stitching, we are around the same age (I have to stop and think about how old I am too.), live in Utah, and had the same hangouts in the 80's, which were Diane's Cross Stitch and Heintzelman's. I loved going there just to browse and search for the perfect project. I am amazed at all your stitching, in the early 2000's somehow I became more of a pattern collector than actually stitching. And I think I have a few projects in what you call "stitching prison." I will keep watching your videos and pretty sure you have motivated me to at least check on my decade old WIP's. My current WIP is the Game Board Sampler... I have one house left too do. Its been waiting a very long time to be finished. Thanks inspiring me. :)
@Handworkmaniac2 жыл бұрын
Hi Susan!!! So happy to meet another stitcher from my same era, lol!! One house left!!!!! Are you done yet? I hope so :) I find that my oldest WIPs are usually still around for a good reason. There was something I didn't enjoy about them. So I like to switch off stitching on them with new projects that I like better :) I hope you get some lovely stitching time today :)

Thank you for sharing your stories and projects, Ive been sewing most of my life ( I'm 62!) I've been quilting since 1975 but I also knit and machine embroider. I x stitched a bit in the early 90 but I gave it up as raising three children took up a lot of my time and by the time at night I would sit to xstitch I was too tired to concentrate on a xstitch chart! Also at the time the available designs just weren't my style, I love the antique designs of samplers and more muted colors and I couldn't find anything I liked. So jump forward to last year I decided to take up xstitch again to deal with my stress and anxiety of the pandemic(my mother told me to stop yelling at the TV!), and the news, and because now so much is available online Ive been discovering all of the antique sample designs and beautiful overdyed thread that I've dreamed about 25 years ago! Im a slow stitcher so it will be years before I get all of the things done I want to do but I'm loving stitching and learning about xstitch from flosstubes.
