Handwritten Font on Cakes By Hand | Cheats Writing Calligraphy on Cakes! | No templates!

How to write a handwritten italic font onto a fondant cake, using the basic principles of calligraphy (but cheating a fair bit!) to make it easier to do with slightly tricky gold edible paint on a soluble, sugary fondant surface.
DISCLAIMER: Calligraphy artists, PLEASE DO NOT WATCH me destroy your art! This is for cake makers only, who want to write onto cakes without using templates.
Easy to follow for beginner cake makers onwards.
I will always try and answer as many questions as I can. please don't hesitate to ask.
Unfortunately , the pen I used is from a set that's no longer available. This link is for a similar set. I would suggest either using the yellow or brown, depending on what works best with your shade of gold. You can use any colour pen or paint for your italic font, though!

I have used this method on buttercream, too. I waited for it to crust outside the fridge to avoid condensation. Although, I realise this is difficult if you’re not in a cool climate. I will add, it is more tricky and I definitely have made more mistakes on buttercream! Practise, practise 😅. Thanks for watching :)

I have used this method on buttercream but you need to wait for it to crust outside the fridge to avoid condensation and bleeding/smudging of the ink and icing. (I realise this is difficult if you’re not in a cool climate). It’s definitely more tricky to do but not impossible. Thanks so much for commenting. My signature colours are usually very bright and light and I guess, might be less visible if you have your screen brightness levels set high. I have no problems seeing this on all my screens but will certainly bear this issue in mind for future videos. Happy caking! ❤️
