I was wondering why there'd be so many dislikes, and then I realized that over 1100 people have searched for a KZbin guide on how to do an oil change, and wound up watching Red Green. This makes me immensely happy.

@@2511jeremy With 1930s to mid 1950s cars a bigger issue was the steering shaft. Before Borgenson universal joints designed to break in an impact, drivers often got impailed by the steering shaft when the frame bent with the steering box. We forget how safe cars have become.

This is becoming more and more true for modern cars. Audi service manual oil change instructions: "Step 1 - Remove engine. Step 2 - Using special service tool SST38924B54, remove the 348 dual-triangle tin clips holding all 74 engine covers from the engine. Take care not to damage the plastics. The 37 lithium-sodium gaskets are single use only and must be replaced." Stay gold.

Normally I just put the garden hose in the oil cap hole and since water and oil don't mix,all the old oil floats right out of the engine.Just siphon out the excess water and replace with whatever kind of oil your wife has around in the kitchen.I prefer to use extra virgin olive oil to keep it running healthy, with a cup of bacon grease for that good smelling exhaust.

This reminds me of a friend of a friend I had met. I decided to visit him one day and he was working on his old pickup truck. I asked him what he was doing. He said, a bondo job. I asked what he was using as a filler. He said, "oh, just an old work sock". It reminds me of this episode- a simple man.

My 1974 Camaro came with a bumper jack (I bought it in 1990). The front end lifted up but the right tire stayed on the ground. That's how I learned that half the frame mounts had rusted out and were no longer bolted to the body.

From the age of thirteen, I was responsible for changing the snow tires to regular tires - and visa versa - every change of season on both of my parent's cars (1975 Buick Century Wagon and 1977 Chevy Impala). I hated those bumper jacks with a passion and was always afraid that one day, the jack would fail as I was changing the tires out.

I was born in 99, so this was JUST slightly before my time. However, I've heard that infamous closing line from my dad more times than I can count. I am a professional diesel mechanic and I also hold an aircraft mechanic license. What I find especially entertaining about this is that he clearly has some skills. He has a really excellent sledge swing, he is square to the work and the hammer comes down the middle of his body. He spun that drain plug out quickly with the crescent wrench perpendicular to the plug. This is amazing stuff.

Every time I watch this show this guy cracks me up. I miss the good old comedy from back in the day. It sure beats the heck out of the junk they try to throw at us on the TV these days. And I asked for those who dislike this video they must not have any sense of humor they still got their stick in the mud

@@notablynova4247 GM didn't do that anymore in the eighties. "BO" was one thing, "PC" was another and they all shared engines. Cutlasses and non-3.8 Regals got 307s, and Monte/GP got 305s (and also N/A 3.8s). GM being GM, you might find some RPO oddball to "prove" me wrong, but really, they're all 305s.

@@fun_ghoul that's what I meant not 307 and I also realized that you seem to have forgotten the possibility of it being a 267 as well, being a 79 or 80 that's much more likely than a 305 if it is a Chevy block

It wasn't recorded in the US, it's a Canadian production filmed in Ontario. We have even stricter environmental standards than the US does. You can't find shows like this anymore though. This was classic!
