I was mainly interested in how to get the vinyl panels off. Wish you would do another video just on that. Showing from the start before any ceiling panel is removed. It was a little hard to see in this vid. Thanks!

Here's what it looks like: www.homedepot.com/p/Wiss-Siding-Removal-Tool-WSR1/204158892 It's super helpful and this is what Dave used to open up a few panels on our porch ceiling in order to hang the porch swing. I have that tool and have used it on siding. I managed to get a few of the ceiling panels off with the tool but it was much harder than the siding. Appreciated your reply.

Yes, Dave says he agrees with you - that the ceiling panels are harder to remove than the siding. Might have to do with the thickness of it.

Once you puncture the vinyl it’s no longer waterproof right?

True, but it should be protected by the roof. You could use a vinyl caulk if you feel it would be needed.
