After watching you cutting back your petunias, I cut back my verbena because they looked awfully leggy. What a difference. Thanks for sharing!

Watching this on Canada Day, the red/white petunia basket made my heart happy 🍁

You've given me the push I needed to do some aggressive trimming on my petunia baskets. 😂

Good luck. Sometimes they need something extreme to whip them back into shape 😀

That was painful for me to watch. I don't ever have hanging baskets that look so full. I need to fertilize more, but I don't have all day full sun either just 11-4. It's hard to fertilize when we get regular rain down south. Appreciate your videos though.

Talk to the folks at your local garden center, maybe they can recommend some plants that will cope with the regular moisture better.

Wow! 😳🤣I’m just wondering what the containers will look like if it ever stops raining here in SW Ontario!

If you trim it back first it will be easier to treat the bugs after, less plant to spray, and thus less product used/wasted.

If you need to spray for bugs, trimming back can make it easier- especially to reach the undersides of the leaves. Plus you may be removing some eggs or additional pests. Just make sure to leave some leaves for the plant to photosynthesize AND dispose of the cuttings in the trash rather than composting them.
