It doesn't look real. In real life, dropping victims by few inches won't kill them outright. Few inches drop means a slow death within two or three minutes. In hanging victims, dropping them by few yards mean can kill them instantly within few seconds. I have seen films of executions from decades ago.

Yeah, a short drop hanging takes at least 5 min to kill the victim and the victim would usually kick and struggle violently and in most cases they would piss and shit themselves after just 30 seconds to a minute into the hanging. It's a horrible way to die.

I've read a lot of studies and medical papers as well as spoken to a nurse (who is also my sister incidentally) about the medical effects of hanging and yes if the neck doesn't break death can take 10 to 20 minutes but unconsciousness is actually induced very quickly due to pressure on the arteries in the neck cutting off blood flow to the brain. No blood flowing to the brain, no consciousness. It's one of the reasons why auto erotic asphyxiation is so dangerous to practice, you keep that pressure on your neck for a second too long and you are out and can't stop yourself from hanging to death. So yes not a quick death but also not a particularly painful one as you're "asleep" for most of it. The kicking and twitching observed in hanging victims is reflexes, just as the erection in male victims and voiding of bowels are reflexes. I went through a phase of being very obsessed by hanging when one of my favourite actresses hanged herself which is why I looked into it so much 😅
