Thank you, David:) I've created the channel in order to force myself to study every day. Were there not for the uploading schedule, I would surely miss a day or two. This made me commit to progress. And if I'm able to help other people learn what I'm learning, all the better.

Wow, you are really spoiling us with your avalanche of videos. Thank you! I have played the Averbakh System for a couple of months and I would say that the line 4...e5 5. d5 is more straight-forward line for white than playing Nf3: If black plays 5...f5 6. exf5 gxf5 7. Qa5+ Kf8 they are very slow in developing the queen-side pieces and white can stop immediate king-side and center counter-play with g3. The only problem-piece for white is the knight on g1, because depending on the move-order, it belongs on e2, f3 or h3. As long as white does not bungle the development, his play is extremely easy, usually preparing f4- or b4-expansion, while the black center cannot advance without giving white pieces outposts in the center.

Thanks Atte! Yeah, d5 is playable. You are correct about what you said too. Thanks for the input. I didn't have the position so many times that I can really say how I feel about it. I'll do some more testing of both:)

Thank you so much! I've been playing the classical for a few months losing at least 2/3s of my games. My record with the Averbakh is 8-0 against players rated between 2000 and 2300 lichess! This was so helpful! This is amazing!

Also, nobody plays e5 at my level. All the games have been either c5 or h6! But the Positions I end up with are +2! Also, can you explore this line that Naiditsch plays in the King's Indian with Qe8 on Move 6? d4, Nf6, c4, g6, Nc3, Bg7, e4, d6, Nf3, 0-0, Be2, Qe8! It's dubious, but unexplored!

I play the modern defense myself, i play the Nc6 variation, after d5, Ne5 is actually sub variation. But Nd4 is the main variation ( actually white can force a draw here if wants to in this line )and Nb8!? ( ?! ) is my variation. Nb8 might look counter intuitive but gives us break with both c6 and e6. Black less space but i think it is an even game.

At 25:00, Rook x bishop is possible, then why to retreat the rook please.

At the 25:11 mark, why can't White just take the bishop with his rook? It doesn't look to me like it would get trapped.

yeah the engine also gives +7 for taking and if you do not take it the position is slightly good for white.

I wondered the same. Its strange that his comp bar dont freak out. You sure you checked right in comp? I dont see a way the trap the rook either. Rxe6, the f pawn is hanging, the most logic way to try trap rook would be to first save the pawn structure with f5, but then white has exf5, witch protects the rook. White doesn't have to take the pawn but Ng5 attacks the rook, but the rook can then go to e7, and seems strong on the sevent. Rook could also take on e5.. so rook has many options, so Ng5 dont work i think. Also Rxe6, f5, Kd7 is not realy treahening the rook as its stil protected by pawn... and Rd1 would kick the king back. What if Kd7 emediatela?: Rxe6, Kd7, Rxf6. Black could now go Ng5. But then rook f3... Nxf3, Bxf3. White got 2 minor pieces and a pawn for the rook... cant be good for black. I dont understand this line here and why the his comp eval bar is reacting. His bar looks frozen when showing variation, and come back when enters the line of the actual Karpov game... so perhaps comp was of and he just missed it. 26:32 In the end of showing that gave he say its game over. But eval bar is almost equal, and if white can take the h pawn the pawns are equal. Black has scary free pawns but so has white. I cant tell from that position that one side is winning. It looks unclear to my unprofessional eye. But ofc that game is not the point of showing the opening. So it does not matter.
