Had a Yamaha 6 hp 2 stroke that I purchased used I put on a 10 ft Zodiac. Managed to get it to hover between 15 to 16 mph.

I have one of these engines. One, they are based on the previous model years 2000 Tohatsu/Nisan/Mercury 2-strokes. As explained already: add a simple fuel filter to your fuel line. No problem. Add seafoam to your gas as an additive. These engines regardless of who manufactures them will not run on old gas. Two, break-in for 10 hours is a must on proper oil:gas ratio You can not complain if you don’t or just abuse the motor from day one. Personally speaking, I use mine with a Tohatsu high-thrust prop and no issues in fresh water.

also replace the "ON/OFF" switch on the fueltank it have a flawed design where there is a rubber that will start rotating randomly so 3 holes need to lineup and your engine will randomly die

The speed is in MPH. Max.speed 13 MPH (21 km/h). The boat is "Sevylor T64"

they are same as tohatsu who makes mercury i have one 5 years old no problems

have one myself and i love it and i would recommend it. There is 2 main problems with the engine you need to fix if you buy it. Fuel filter.. the carburetor hole is less than 0.5mm everything will get stuck there (after cleaning 3 times i actually added a fuelfilter and drilled it to 0.5 got more power and run much more stable) Replace the On-Off switch for the fuel line if you use the inbuild tank because its flawed. you have the knob (black) then a rubber hose with a hole in it around the knob which is loose. The hole in the knob and hose and the hole in the casing need to match up for the fuel to run through which is a problem when 3 parts need to line up and the middle part just randomly jumps into position because its not attached to the rod (knob) Worst part is that even if all 3 holes match up its very very slow running but most of the times it will just let drops past and you will notice the engine "miss fire" because lack of fuel while running

Salt water is not a problem. If you want to glide alone, then this engine (6 HP) enough. For two people , i recommend 10 HP

For an inflatable boat is better choise a two stroke motor. Due to loading for a car. 4 stroke more delicate. 6 HP motor is weak,few for two person . Infatable boat can not slip on the water , because of the heavy weigth . Max speed 5 mph . For two person i recommend 10 HP motor.

​@@silardsilard8418i have 4 stroke & 2 stroke motors on my 3 inflatables. All 6 hp motors. 2 strokes faster but doesn't recirculate fuel to burn (wastes fuel). 4 stroke is more efficient & will last longer but heavier. 2-stroke 27 kg. 4-stroke 38 kg in 6 hp class

You would get a lot more out of the motor on a Rigid hull inflatable or even one with a solid floor your boat is folding under the water pressure and using a lot of power pushing that water like a plow I’ve owned and operated a couple of Zodiac brand inflatables and they glide over the water on what Zodiac calls speed tubes under the pontoons we. Grossly over powered a 14 footer we primarily used for skiing and kneeboarding that vessel would dance onthe prop Like a raceboat ! Man we had fun and surprised many people on how fast we could run

@@silardsilard8418 add fuel filter and replace the "ON/OFF" switch (bad design a rubber will randomly block the fuel) on the fuel tank else it will randomly die due to lack of fuel and clean the "screw" in the Carburetor.

@@aad296 I am using Hangkai F7 7hp 4-strokes for more than 6 months. This engine combine with my a little big boat (1.5m x 4.7m) so when our boat carries 400kg, the max speed is 10km/h. It's noisy in the high-performance-state but it's ok in the slower state. It's durable until now. It's more suitable for small boats than I have.😃

Ohhhhhhh that's disappointing.My 2004 honda 5hp 4stroke does 13.2 knots 15mph 4800rpm on a bombard 3.8m SIB .I was hoping I could exchange and have a brand new engine for the same price 😭

Yeah, the Chinese are back at it again with the over inflated hp numbers. I have have a relatively similar sized SIB as here and my Tohatsu 3.5 can get it up to 22-24kmh
