We had a horse that escaped the pasture all the time. All it took was acknowledging him with a 🤦‍♀️ and a holler and he’d escape back into the pasture.

I used to wash and use brush clean out each hoof/frog after workout and mucky ground that dries hard in the hooves. Also the sheath can draw up sand and mud if horse had a let down during work out. Stealth’s often get overlooked.

Had the treat discussion with a horse owner last week. He thought it was helping his horses bond with him and what they really needed and would actually appreciate was some hoofcare and insect repellent - they are in a friggin cloud forest! 🤣

Hank looks a lot smaller when he's wet. He can't be very big. Maybe just the view from the front. Great horse!

He's a little over 15 hands. Camera angle and camera height makes a big difference.

I give treats but only in a food bowl and only when I enter their space. (Treats are also usually a carrot or apple) The horses are not allowed to enter my space for the treat. I also only ride schoolmasters so they are extremely well mannered for the most part. That probably makes a difference.

I really agree with no or very limited treats. It can lead to some dangerous behaviors innocently acquired.

It's not. Not Good to spray your horse directly in the eye with a water sprayer,. If you do get his eye wet All you have to have to do is reach over and.Wipe his eye with your hand to help him get the water out of it.. I really don't get people that spray their horse directly in the face with a hard water sprayer.What's the purpose of that.

Funny how my young horse who used to hate to be hosed loves to drink from the nozzle now, when I discovered he did I started letting him do that before I sprayed him elsewhere, now he is so much better

If you lived in 100 plus heat and high humidity you’d know it’s ok. I always have a couple of clean towels to wipe faces afterwards.

100% humidity and feel like temperature’s over 105 every day requires rinsing. Even faces. We use mist and shower nozzle and haven’t had one that doesn’t like it. Youngsters get used to it real quick when they realize how good it feels.
