I’m glad we got to see one of Scarlets fear issues. You were so good with her, staying calm while showing leadership, which helped her finally enter the stall.

One must admire Nigel, defeater of all methods to make him cleaner, warmer, more comfortable. He's a durable little guy. Scarlet is beautiful. Her mane has lightened to such a pretty color. She's a smart cookie. I bet she'll get the hang of going into and out of the stall soon.

I was wondering if it would help Scarlett if you would show her how you get over that high step by using an example of you taking big steps over the obstacle a few times while she is watching how you do it. Please don't take this as anything other than something that popped into my mind...

I was wondering that as well. Also wondered if a human stepping over that wld be the same to Scarlett as if another horse doing it. Just curious...
@dianeboross697824 күн бұрын
I would tap my own feet on an obstacle while leading them over, and the horses seemed to respect/appreciate that I was warning them about it. They are really smart, but their values and perceptions are so different. They have no value or concept of time. All is in the moment.

I can't believe anyone is criticising you for the way you are training Scarlet! I am so impressed by your extraordinary patience and your compassion with your horses, and training Scarlet will simply take as long as it takes! Trying to hurry the training would be like forcefully opening the flower petals of a bud; it will do no good at all! I've been watching your wonderful videos for a long time from Sweden. Thank you!

Wow she did great!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 That was hard for her . I understand about fearful animals. My sister adopted a dog that was a breeder dog. She didn't even know what grass was the weather , loud noises from vehicles, fast movements, and other normal household things she had never seen before still scares her. It has been 3 years she is 6 years old now. Still learning how to be a dog. Patience is the key . Slow and steady progress little by little. You know your horses best don't let anyone tell you your taking too long. Each horse like each dog is unique. Each situation for that animal is unique . Every animal's situation calls for individual training at there pace. Not what we think the time table should be. Gentling takes time, patience,and lots of understanding.❤ Love what you are doing keep up the hard work she is coming along great 😊.

Can I just take a sec and admire your boots!!! They are awesome! Love em!!! If I had a vote...I say you are doing amazing with all your horses!!! The world needs so badly to learn patience! Patience is a virtue! Here in Kentucky, slot of folk around me, want to "break" horses in a few days! I promise, many of the techniques do not come close to horsemanship! Because of this, I feel alot of horses do end up in a bad situation down the road! They may bend to the humans for a bit but truly never trust/respect em! And never give em 100 percent of what could have been! Alot, I feel, also end up with life long injuries from the pure lazy tactics they use! Thank you for all your care and patience!!!🥰

Hi CC, another nice video. You do a terrific job with all your animals and clearly have a lot of knowledge. Love the Montana views. I’ve been subscribed for a while now and enjoy watching. I had a job for 25 yrs where the majority of my work was very close detailed work and indoors. And would get my regular optometrist visit as he is a friend, and he was not shocked, that my vision was soo short sighted. Now I work outdoors working cattle and horses and my friend is astounded how much my eyesight has reversed vision distance to long sighted. I no longer need driving glasses. But now I need reading glasses. My point is with Nigel… as I understand it, Nigel has vision issues and you had him checked, and are leaving his fore lock long to protect his eyesight. Just one horse person to another, with much respect to you, just trying to help,,perhaps, if you just trimmed the edges of his forelock in a diamond shape following his face shape, just away from his eyes so it is not blocking some of his vision. I have been told by my friend optometrist that Nigel’s vision would improve very slowly. I was also told carrots Vit A will help with healing. I’m aware you are supplementing all your horses , so I’m assuming he’s is getting what is necessary for eye health. Just thought I share to you and fellow horse people.
