Quality company and product. Left my meter dry for over three years. Today my new ph meter wouldn’t turn on. Dusted the old Hanna off, calibrated it, and I can’t believe it’s spot on. Hanna saves me a lot head ache today!

It took 10 minutes to figure out how to get it into CAL mode. The instructions in the box as well as this video do not explain how it works. Try telling people to first turn on the ph tester then hold the power mode button for 3 seconds. Even if it displays the word “off”. I only work with extremely specific information. Items this expensive should have clearer instructions. To some people it’s not obvious how it works.

The pH meter is reading one single decimal (eg 4.0) I had the same pH meter that read two decimal place. (eg. 7.01). How I can correct this?
@HannaInc
@HannaInc 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Maria. Our HI98128 pHep meter reads with .01 resolution, however, the HI98127 reads a .1 resolution. It sounds like you have the HI98127. Where did you buy the meter?

can i store this meter daily in a cup of 4.01 or 7.01 calibration solution and which one would be better?
@HannaInc
@HannaInc 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Tee. You could store in pH 4.01 buffer for a short time, but we recommend getting some storage solution. The 4.01 buffer will eventually cause the electrode to read erratically. You can find storage and cleaning solutions at hannainst.com

@@HannaInc If I use standard solution 4.01 for storage, how long can I store?
@HannaInc
@HannaInc 5 жыл бұрын
@@nganguyenthi5389 You would only want to use4.01 buffer for a short period of time. The electrolyte inside the electrode could get diluted if left in 4.01 buffer for too long. The KCL Storage solution from Hanna is chemically matched to the electrolyte to prevent dilution.

What calibration should I use for my salt water tank 4.1 or 7.1
@HannaInc
@HannaInc 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Javier, Generally you want a pH of 7.6 - 8.4 in your saltwater tank. Generally we recommend doing a two point calibration for better accuracy. So calibrating to both would be your best bet to ensure the highest accuracy results. You can check out hannainst.com for solutions and other materials that will help you keeping your tank at its best!

When I calbrate I now get a prompt reading "WRNG" on this exact pH meter.
@HannaInc
@HannaInc 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Enrique, there are a few reasons this could be happening. First we would recommend you store the electrode in storage solution for a couple hours to help rejuvenate the glass. Sometimes the issue comes from an electrode that is wearing down. Also, make sure your calibration solutions are not expired. If this is an ongoing issue, it may also be the electrode age. These meters conveniently come equipped with a replaceable electrode. We recommend changing the electrode annually to get the best results. Please feel free to contact sales@hannainst.com with any more questions and let me know how it works out for you!

Gone through 4 of these pens. Never had one last more than a month. Usually after two week i get random erratic reading going up to 16 then down to -2. Use them every day, rince them in clean fresh water and use a few drop of storage solution, tried calibrating it just keeps saying wrng, the electrode is 109$ in every store around here and a new pen is 139$, not much point in having a replaceable electrode. Not very impressed on my end.

When I calbrate with solution 7.01 but the display show 6.86, it's correct?
@HannaInc
@HannaInc 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Helga. It sounds like you are in the NiST Buffer set mode of the meter. To Change it, press the mode button for 6 seconds to get into the settings menu. You will see Temp on the bottom of the screen. Press the mode button again, and you will probably see 6.86 BUFF. You want to press the Set/Hold Button and it will switch back to 7.01 BUFF, which is the standard buffer set you are trying to use.

Hi Michael! Welcome to the Hanna Family. Lets get you started. Your meter should come already prepared to turn on, so the first step is to calibrate. You will need pH 4.01 and pH 7.01 buffers for best calibration accuracy. Depending on what you're testing, sometimes you might want pH 3 or 10.01 buffers. Once you calibrate, all you have to do is test your sample. If you're having any troubles, email tech@hannainst.com and those folks over there can give you the step by step how to over the phone or through email. They're stellar!
