As "learning facilitators" [educators], we still tend to couch our language in outmoded terminology. We still tend to use words (and attached conceptual models) like Educate ("We need a better model to Educate our students") instead of Learning ("We need a better model from which to facilitate Learning in students"). Until we make the conscious decision to focus on Learning rather then Educating, we will continue to make the same conceptual errors. Educating is an attempt to substitute a facilitator-directed approach for a learner-directed approach (which is far superior). Change the language, change the conceptual base [see Ayn Rand]; change the result.
