I wish I had found out about her sooner and I am from Adelaide where the Fringe is on every year. I have noticed though that there are a few too many comments about her gender. Why are people so hung up on whether she's a male or female? Or if she looks more masculine than your average female? Does it matter? Watch her show. Think about what she's trying to say and talk about it. Here's hoping for some awareness and acceptance of people's differences and to focus on the similarities instead.

She makes Fallon funny. What trash
@bernadettepurtell94176 жыл бұрын
@caRn If you are basing this on this crap interview then go and educate yourself on her other stuff. If you are basing this on other things of hers you have seen and you don't find her funny then that's cool. We can't find everyone funny but comedy I find is personal.

Melbourne is actually meant to be said that way, but us Aussies don’t want to drag a word out we changed it to Melbern. And sometimes we even drop the R. Melben lol
@MM-dq2pi6 жыл бұрын
It's not that we don't want to drag the word out, it's because our accent is non-rhotic, which means the /r/ sound does not appear at the end of a syllable or immediately before a consonant Thus, you get the phonetic spelling of Melbourne as /ˈmɛlbn̩/
@JackieWarner136 жыл бұрын
Lol it's Mel-Bin Jimmy not Mel-Born. So proud of Hannah.
@SaraStar73736 жыл бұрын
JackieWarner13 Americans have a rhotic accent which means they always pronounce their ‘r’s, whereas Aussies and NZers don’t. So he kinda can’t help it, no Americans can
@ashddd6 жыл бұрын
Sara Dickson I mean, it’s really not a big deal, but just for arguments sake, if he tried he could pronounce it correctly, I have heard Americans say it right (mel-bun) before ;)
@lynandrews10336 жыл бұрын
Actually more like Melben or most Aussies pronounce Melbourne without any vowel between the b and the n. Like Melbn. No one in Australia says Melborn or Melborrrrrn like the Americans. We don’t really pronounce the R’s in many things. Like Cairns is just Cans but more like a z at the end. Canz :)
@MM-dq2pi6 жыл бұрын
The point is, he should pronounce it the way it with the correct pronunciation for that city. I was surprised he wasn't corrected, and that he didn't already know. And not all American accents are rhotic.
