I love the tutorial! Thank you! I do have a question about some of the maths.. (and someone, please correct me if I'm wrong), but the pattern doesn't just work on a 'multiples of 10 plus 7' basis, it needs to be multiples of 10, that when divisible by 2 equal a multiple of 10. For example (one that works) Back panel is chain 80 (plus 7 to start the pattern) But to do the two front panels you'd chain 40 (plus 7 for each panel to start the pattern) So 40 + 40 = 80 (the front panel + front panel = full back panel) so the seams would match up. However, if you needed to chain 70 for the back panel, that doesn't work/ Back panel is 70 (+7) But each front panel would be 35 [half of 70] (+7 each for the pattern). To do each front panel, they can't be 35 (+7) each for the pattern to work since that's not a multiple of 10, but any more or any less and you wouldn't be able to match it and sew them to the back panel properly. Please let me know if I'm misunderstanding, or if I'm not, hope this helps anyone also using the youtube tutorial to work out the pattern! :)

hi!! i’m so sorry i didnt mention this in the pattern video!! 😩 but if you need 70, i suggest just rounding up to 80, or the nearest even 10. like if you need 90, then do 100 so the front panels are both even. 🫶🏼🫂

I really want to make this but I need two ties for the look I'm trying to achieve. Is there a way to add another tie lower on the cardigan?
@HannahDrapinski12 күн бұрын
yes you totally can add as many as you need!! my ties aren’t actually attached to my cardigan :) i just loop the chained tie that we made through matching loops on either side of the cardigan ♥️

If you, for example,chain 70 for the back panel, then wouldnt the front panels not be multiples of 10 anymore? because they would be 35 chains. wouldn't that mess up the pattern?
@flolinserubchen107910 күн бұрын
Someone explained this in the comments already but you have to round the number up to the next even 10. So 80 if you were going for 70. I can't explain it that well but the original commentator did a good job I think
