I have been doing KDP for a few months now and am loving it! It is such an amazing business model. However, they are known for shutting down accounts without any warning, so I wouldn’t republish the same interior with different covers unless it is a blank lined journal. It’s against terms and conditions because each one needs to be differentiated.

Two things for KDP : mattte black covers leave fingerprints, especially for an oft-handled book, and amazon doesn't like mass repeated interiors (the exception is plain lined interiors). I would at least change the font on a few versions so they don't suspend your account or take down your book or anything 😊

I have been totally humbled. Lol… I thought I was pretty computer savvy and you made this look so incredibly simple that I thought I’d have a few low content books on KDP by the end of the day. Six hours later what I got was a headache and totally frustrated. I just couldn’t figure out how to make the book cover on Kittl and save it and then move over to Bookbolt and download the cover and pick the inside and save that. Going over to KDP was easy but I couldn’t find anything to import,download or how to get the book into it. Maybe you need to do a video for dummies. 😅

Ahh Hannah, not sure when you did this video but Amazon KDP has limited the amount of books you can upload per day (3) to stop the bad faith of spammy people who are putting out crap notebooks and journals without much thought. I agree that It's so hard to get sales of no and low content books these days, a few years ago maybe. Medium and high is where the sales are now and with lots of promotion. I've been trying for two years, I will persevere though as I enjoy the creative process.

They are just youtubers that sell you a idea but nothing is easy. Using inflated number is what make me not to watch this videos. Now stay away big platforms because they will close your account with no warning and no explanation, specially KDP and Etsy.

I noticed when you were uploading the book to Amazon that you didn't check the box that said it was a low content book. Was there a particular reason for that?

I typically only check that for books with just lined pages, but you can read through the KDP guidelines and decide which category each particular book you are creating best falls into.

Hi Hannah. Wonderful channel and another great video. Can I check one thing please concerning the profit between Amazon and the creator? You state in the video it’s 40 per cent of the profit to Amazon and 60 per cent to the creator. Is that right? I watched another video where the figures were given the other way round and from the chart in your video it looks like it should be the other way round. Have I got this wrong? I like how you went from start to finish, however have you made $4376 in a month? if so, did you run ads? I've done KDP for almost two years, and it is fun, yet is hard work. While being optimistic, about success, just because you put a book out there doesn't mean folks will buy it or like it. Even if you load a quality product, doesn't mean it will be seen by everyone or anyone, if they don't scroll to page 50. Amazon gives a lot of information, when you run ads. You'll see impressions, clicks, etc--unfortunately, it's a learning experience and patience, to see what works for you. Also, Amazon now has a daily uploaded limit.

Do you have to use book bolt or can you use your design suite for graphics and printify for the actual book?

For KDP, Amazon actually prints the books for you, so you won't have to connect with Printify. For the cover and insides you can certainly make those in your design suite, this is just a helpful tool to make getting books out a lot easier.
