The eggs aren't in the fridge because they haven't been washed and still have the natural protective barrier that is present when laid. In the US, the eggs are washed, and once washed, they must be refrigerated.

Also - You don't put eggs in a fridge.
@blackadder196612 күн бұрын
@topjack800 The best place to store eggs is the fridge, as it maintains a constant temp. Temperature fluctuations increase the risk of salmonella, etc, significantly. The Climate in which you live and the seasons are relevant too. Typically in England we kept eggs in the fridge, definitely in the fridge here in Australia.

@@blackadder1966 Fridge or not is dependent on:- if the egg has been washed. That's my understanding and nothing else.
@WookieWarriorz2 күн бұрын
@@blackadder1966 nope in all of europe eggs wont be in a fridge, they dont need to be theyre fine due to the cuticle on the egg. In the american and apprently australian process they wash them in chemicals that destroy the cuticle meaning that bacteria can get through the egg via condensation which is why temperature has to be maintained in a fridge. Also salmonella isnt a problem in the uk and europe because we vaccinate our chickens against it. Ive never had food poisioning in my life.

I also like to do grocery deliveries and shops at Waitrose. I plan my meals and prepare them to eat. So, that I always have something on the go. I also freeze meals. A few things: • Buying whole fresh fruits and vegetables helps to be cost effective. • The meat deal of 3 for £12 comes very much in handy! • Buy a whole chicken and roast it! You can have so many different meals with different parts of the chicken. 😋 • Their tinned olives are great as a snack, in salads or on pizza. • Their fine pasta and pizza flour is the best flour I’ve ever used in my life. • If I ever buy pre-cut or pre-cooked foods, I find they last a long time and are in good condition when used! • As Hannah said, their Essential Waitrose range is very good! I don’t fault the quality of any of it. • They’re the only supermarket chain that offers pre-cut Soffrito!! It helps because of my fibromyalgia. I love to add it to sauces, soups stews! • They’re the only ones who offer frozen chopped shallots!! I find Hannah’s shop was quite expensive due to all the pre-made and pre-cut foods. However, I fussed it was expensive when seeing her shop. Given that she bought loads of drinks, sushi and the karaage bowel, it was pretty decent! I say it loudly: Waitrose is actually quite reasonably priced when shopping smart and has very good quality.
