Thanks to the both of you for giving this interview. No way I could've done this because of being so star struck.

Haha. Thank you. It was pretty awesome talking to a childhood legend.

this is why i love youtube. you’ve covered a legend and had a blast time in the woods. listening to hans and knowing what he is still doing for the entire community is amazing. i am lucky to follow some of those travels trough tv. but it’s amazing that you also post moments like this and share it with everyone to enjoy and have a trip back to the beginnings. and cutting all the old clips into this edit makes this my movie of the months. in case you’re in the alps yourself one day and here someone yodeling, i’m dedicating this to you 😂

Awesome stuff. I am a huge fan of Hans Rey! I love the idea of a climbing competition for eMTB's. I have found that I really enjoy technical climbing since getting my Orbea Rise, and feel this is where eMTB's shine.

9:52 …and I’ve done it all…. Usually that’s BS call. But Hans Rey? Yes sir, you have. Much respect to a living legend. (And in his humble defense, he immediately corrected himself. Rey = King. Aptly named.

He's an amazing man isn't he.

I always found it to be difficult to clip out when one shoe is already out. Sometimes this happens when I clipping on one side expecting to drop to that side but then the bike goes the other way. The hybrid style is an interesting thought however.

I wanted to try the half clip less and flats but kept thinking how ridiculous that sounds 😂. Thx to Hans Its not ridiculous anymore .

I'm slightly confused how he has a leading foot when pedaling up hill? But if it works for him that's awesome

Maybe the Magpedals would be the perfect choice for Hans. 😅

Interesting shoe idea but I would not recommend learning to ride clipless like that. When you are learning to ride clipless you should practice always unclipping both feet at the same time. If you don't practice unclipping both feet all of the time when you are in trouble you are likely forget to detach the other shoe when you are clipless on both feet. Staying attached to the bike with one foot could lead to a more serious injury when crashing.

It's no different than any other sport there is. Nowadays they are performing on a whole nother level but they are also aided by much more technology and the knowledge of past trials and errors.
