Thanks my friend. I started touring with Randy in 1998, a year later the italian booker called me and asked in his best italian english : "Woulda you lika to playa witha da Buddy Miles?" I thought he was kidding me. That was my favorite moment in time.

I can't even tell you how many bootlegs I have or other recordings I have gotten off youtube, but my JImi collection is pretty extensive. Every now and again you hear a song or a recording that you haven't heard before from Jimi -- which is always cool and then of course I listen to it 100 times trying to figure out where and when that took place over his short career. I've heard many people try to do JImi -- really -- never any good -- Stevie was the best at certain songs. I came across Randy a couple years ago and have been collected his stuff as well -- I think this version of Spanish Castle Magic is as good or even better than Isle of Wight

How did playing with Buddy come about? Did you guys approach him, did he approach you, did managers or friends put you together? It must have been so amazing for Buddy to be able to play Hendrix again!

Randy and Buddy had been playing together before and had been friends for a while. I got into the band, when Noel Redding wasn’t able to do the tour

That was actually the first time, we got together in this combination. We were in Italy and just had a 30 minutes rehearsal that day, when some guy came in and offered us a little warm up gig at his tivoli at the beach in Ravenna, before the tour started. So we went there right away and finished our rehearsal with audience at the beach. It was all jammed and we kept it that way for the rest of the tour.
