Hendrix score: Steve Vai = Has Steve ever heard of Jimi Hendrix? Has he ever even worked out one of his famous solos? ..its only a youtube away fgs.... Randy Hansen = 200 per cent

The tone is fabulous. I don't love the distant miking (or post processing ?), but the extra gain from the bridge humbucker is helping.

And then Experience Hendrix do these Hendrix tours with Zakk Wylde, Steve Vai etcetera just because they are big names but Randy is the only guy who truly capatures Jimi's spirit and greatness.

Ultra live smoking version of "Midnight." Randy Hansen always gives 💯 during live gigs, tribute to Hendrix. Steve Vai complimented the vibes.

Since Jimi Hendrix is an important musical personality and music is an important part of this civilization, his violent death is a crime against civilization.

Jimi Hendrix invented new music and used it against the regime . Thats why he had to die and we'll never know how much we've lost actually.

Insperation travels a long way to randy etc and way on down the line to us mere mortal s who are in awe of these guys skills etc. Randys love for hendrix is evidently from idol worship and he gets it each song.

RANDY HANSEN'S BAND, to me, and to anyone else worth their salt is not a tribute band.. It's just that this man is so enamoured with Jimi's magic that he simply doesn't want to play anything else other than that which inspires him.. And Who could argue?.. Man, Randy possess' and Channels Jimi like no one else ever has.. You can learn any version of any of Jimi's songs note for note, and not come close to sounding like Jimi.. However, Randy does (without playing note for note).. Its just that Randy is another force of nature and I'm sure he hits his Stratocaster in the style of Jimi that at most times by now is just purely instinctual... Its not necessary to replicate the notes exactly.. In fact, to do so would be philosophically beside the point of being inspired by him in the first place.. If Jimi could get up on stage right now, he still couldn't get it identical to any particular song version, and he wouldn't, and never did want to.. Its about getting into the groove is what's important and let come what may... I believe that alot of the advanced technical equipment available now which wasn't available to Jimi 50 years ago, Randy seems to have a feel and understanding of the way Jimi would utilise the evolution of the that technology and also having insight into how Jimi would've evolved himself.. Jimi was always looking for the cutting edge equipment (and pushing it to its max) to adopt it into his Electric Church...

Excellent. I've been waiting to hear a live version of this song since 1974! 50 years. So thank you. BTW what's the name of that guitar scale being played at 3:15? I just wish there was more blistering shred. But... Thanks.

I agree. We had to keep it short, since Randys guitar went totally out of tune during this opening song.

Randy is brilliant, a great player but his performances also remind me what a truly great songwriter Jimi was, creating such a brilliant range of moods, great melodies and strong arrangement variations. In the 21st century we certainly have lots of great, techically amazing guitarists , shredders and virtuosos, but who can create such memorable songs as Jimi's? Randy's trio is quite amazing at bringing Jimi's material - even the very complex overdubbed studio songs -- to vivid life, and that's also astonishing. What a player!

@ I’m honored by your comment my brother. The key to survival now becomes remaining sane, loving, and only expressing compassion for the lost souls and minds that are afflicted by a virus far more dangerous than Covid 19. Your dedication to the music brings solace and joy to a world in dire need of healing. Stay safe my friend!
