Good stuff. The video that HANSSHOW has for installing the camera is correct. I will say that if you have an eight-gauge piece of wire, you can feed the wiring on the side of the rubber cover inside the frunk and under the plastic storage bin. HANSSHOW cuts a piece of the front of the cover off, which I don’t recommend.

Great video - thanks for posting it! Question - you mentioned you set up an automation so that CarPlay is automatically routed to you car audio. Can you explain this a little more? Is this some kind of programming you had to do? Is it a setting on the unit? Do you have to have your car in BT mode and pair the unit with you car? (all the questions)

The automation is something you can do within your iPhone. The link below is a walkthrough. I made the video with another Hansshow screen, but it works with the F68 as well. @cholley5433 - I have it installed but I'm only hearing audio through the tiny speaker which came with the display (I got Android Auto and the apps from the phone are wirelessly connected successfully). Do you know how to get the audio through the car speakers? Is it a phone sharing issue or a Hansshow setting issue. BTW - Bluetooth is connected to MYLR and F68.

There is a part of the video where I explain that i turned down the volume on the screen. In summary, your phone will stay connected to your car and the F68, but you have to route audio through your iPhone. You can use the video below to bypass the F68, if you have an iPhone. When you are using UI 2 with the big speedometer and tire pressure displays, do you get blind spot warnings? What I mean is: Is the turn signal area red when another car is in your blind spot and green if not?

The F68 will not have the blind spot detection that the Tesla UI does.

I did not update the software on my unit. To this point, Hansshow has not released an update for the F68. If they do, it will normally show on the product page.

Thanks for posting this video. I ordered a F68 system, but have not installed it yet. It looks like my AMD harness is the updated one you installed. The instructions Hansshow included are the ones where you remove the center console. It looks like all I have to do is plug one plug into the blue socket on the passenger side (the other side of this plug is not plugged into anything?)and plug the jumper into the plug on the driver's side. Then plug the smaller black plug into the display. Can you verify all this for me? There is a two conductor plug near the display plug, any use for this plug?

You are correct. The passenger side should not have anything plugged in from the manufacturer. The driver side will have something plugged in, but that’s what the jumper is for. Both ends of the cable will work on either side.

Your video helped me a lot. I think Hansshow was very negligent by shipping out a new wiring harness and including the old instructions. Their instructions are TERRIBLE! If it hadn't been for you, I would have removed my center console and wondered why the plugs didn't work. I found the new installation video, but I would not have known it existed if I hadn't seen your video. I have not installed my F68 yet so I don't know if everything will work. For the main harness, its can be used on either side. They do it that way in case you already have aftermarket things plugged in. You can still jump off the other plug. The smaller plug connected to the screen is for the camera, which I did not install. It does not serve a purpose for me. There are other videos, however, that show how to install the camera.@@gateway3456

I was referring to the small two conductor plug (with the two green wires) near the 8 connector plug that plugs into the display. I can't find a matching socket on the display into which to plug this small plug. Does this plug have no use? The only other plug socket on the display is the round one in which you plug in the cable to the camera. Also, is the 12 volt power for the F68 obtained through the big white plugs since you are not removing the center console to get power? I emailed Hansshow to get more info, but the answer I got back from the guy in China was not very easy to understand. How have you found their phone support?

Pay special attention at 7:33 of this video (I didn't this weekend). The connector with the purple and blue wires MUST go in the passenger side connector as shown. If you have them reversed (as far as driver side passenger side), the display will not come on. I had to take off the panels again, reversed them, and presto chango it came on. Also, be careful with the tabs going into the steering wheel, they are fragile. I made sure I aligned everything and tapped on the top of it and one of the tabs broke off with very little force.

Does your steering wheel block the display?

For me it’s perfect. It’s all about your seat placement. Since the screen is mount to the steering column, the screen moves when you move the steering wheel.

By default, the audio goes to CarPlay (F68 Screen). That will play the audio through the speaker on the screen. When your phone connects to the F68, you can manually select the output device where your audio is played. I have an iPhone Automation setup to automatically route my audio through the Tesla speakers. I am going to post a video tomorrow on how to do this. Please subscribe to get the notification.

I honestly cannot say. It will come down to if Hansshow maintains installable updates. I feel it could last a long time, unless Tesla does some sort of over the air update and it kills the Hansshow screen.

The screen connects to Bluetooth initially. Once connected, it will activate CarPlay.

@@Swaangin I like the unit. It provides all the heads-up in front of me, without the need to look at the main Tesla screen. The only thing I do not like about it is that even though you can route music to play through the main car speakers, it will not route navigation audio through the car. I primarily use Waze, but the only option for audio is CarPlay, which only routes audio through the screens speaker.

@@cholley5433 That's actually really strange because when I connect my iPhone via bluetooth, my Waze (which I run in background) + audio does go through but you're saying music is fine but navigation does not? That's kind of disappointing.

@@Swaangin It was disappointing for me. I suppose the positives outweigh the negatives. I read somewhere that Hansshow updated the software to where it routes the navigation to the car. I have not seen that update. Fake news to me.

If you are looking to use the built-in speaker, especially for those who just want 100% Waze, Hansshow has silently changed the circuit board on these units since first introducing this unit. If you have the new version 1103, the built-in speaker no longer works and you must use the Tesla speakers.

If you are talking about the HANSSHOW screen not working with your car’s built-in speakers, it will work. You just have to change some phone settings. Please watch the video below. @@cholley5433 it’s the built-in speaker that won’t work. My iPhone only connects to f68 internal speaker if i toggle off CarPlay. Hansshow doesn’t respond…closing in on two weeks.

You do not have to turn off CarPlay from your phone. That will disconnect you from the Hansshow device. All you need to do is change the audio output from your phone. I show how to do that in the other video.
