You finalized my decision to buy Dandelion, Borage, and Chervil seeds to grow my own delicious "weeds"❤️
@HaphazardHomestead4 жыл бұрын
Good decision, ee! If you see dandelions around you, of the quality that you like - like with big, lush leaves - you don't even have to buy seed. Especially in northern regions, dandelions seeds don't even get pollinated. Their seeds are almost always simply clones of the booming plant, with the exact same genetics. It's pretty crazy, but helpful for anyone wanting to grow their own dandelion patch. Enjoy your future weed patch!

So nice to see you here, kleineroteHex! That's a lot of dandelion picking! I can appreciate your dark stained fingers - that takes some dedication! When I'm using just a few dandelions, I just twist the yellow flowers out, but for a big harvest, that's a lot of handiwork! You're right about using other greens for the quiche, just wilt them down first. And I'm always appreciative of a taste review of your quiche, or to know how you improve it. Enjoy what your making with all those dandelion flowers! :D

🥰🥰🥰 I'm new 2 your channel. I love your voice. I'm confused 😞😩 how can you tell a real dandelion from a fake one?
@HaphazardHomestead4 жыл бұрын
A real dandelion has only one flower on each stem. That stem will be hollow and it is plain, without any leaves or ridges. Many of the plants people mistakenly identify as dandelions have a cluster of flowers on a stalk, and some even have a flower stalk that has leaves along it and even side-branches. I'll try to take more video footage and do a video about it sometime soon.

Hi there! I'm new to your channel. Just discovered your awesomeness when searching for info on hop plants. I've got a volunteer from plants brought to my area from Germany back in the early 1900s. Prior property owner did nothing with them. I'd like to get them vining properly next year. How do I propagate this single plant that has spread, so that I can put in growing posts like you have in your video? I also want to transplant part of it to another location in the yard, which part of the plant do I cut or dig to do this, and when is the best time? Winter? Thank you for such great information. 💛
@HaphazardHomestead2 жыл бұрын
Very cool that you have hop plants with such history, lala d! Yes, the roots and rhizomes growing underground are easy to dig and transplant in the early spring. If you mulch your hops for the winter, they will start spreading and it's easier to dig up what you need. I'm working on a video on Caring for Hops in Winter that shows roots and rhizomes, so keep an eye out for that in August or September. But get your trellis system ready before you plant the starts. They may be small for that first year, but after that -- stand back! :D
@seshadrisrinath3 жыл бұрын
I have leaves that look like the hop leaves, but they are smaller and fuzzy, cat's ear type. The plant has a basal rosette and shoots are also fuzzy. What could it be. I'm in SC.
