It's interesting that you and Cole talk about focusing on yourself and being selfish in a way, relationship-wise. I feel that way too, as I transition. It feels good because before transition, I think one of my subconscious coping mechanisms was to focus on the needs of others. That and paying too much attention to myself in that state was not a good feeling. Great interview Forest and Cole, you are looking great. Keep on keep in' on.

Re-watching a bunch of your videos, Forest. What a great interviewer and such an inspiring interview with Cole! I'm FTM and transitioning. I want hormones now but have not had my first shot. I'm trying to be patient to allow my wife of 12 years to catch up. It's fucking hard. Had my first couple's therapy session last night. arg. It was a start. But, at the end the therapist suggested a couple of things that really pissed off. Top surgery before hormones and then at the end she and my mate talked about how great (and supportive) it would be if we went shopping for men's clothes after therapy. I knew it wouldn't work. I told them (therapist is transgender but has not medically transitioned) my body dysphoria would just mess with me (I don't have a male body!) THOSE MIRRORS and that's exactly what happened. It's not about dealing with what I have. I've done that all my life. For me, it's about becoming physically male. It's about testosterone first not last. I think this is an exercise to allow my sweetheart to have some time in order for our relationship. But I left feeling misunderstood. again. The therapist said its a bad idea to rush out and do everything at once -- meaning hormones! I've waited 52 years for shits sake!!! I want to continue to be understanding for my wife and I will. This is SO hard for her! I know!! It kills me. I feel totally guilt stricken and deeply sad for her. This video cheers me a bit. Even if my relationship fails, hopefully I can find some happiness finally having an integrated relationship with myself. Right now it's just hard. Thank you guys.

I total get where Coles coming from. My girlfriend doesn't except me as Trans and it's really upsetting and I don't know what to do about it. I don't feel strong enough to go it alone. Very good blog very comforting to listen too and know I'm not alone!! Thank you

Good video, Forest. NBC Nightly News produced a little mini feature series on transgender children couple of weeks ago. It was pretty awesome to see a major TV network address the subject and particularly as it regards children. So the subject of trans is getting some notoriety and is hitting mainstream media. Big changes, I sense, are just around the corner.

IM shots, once a week. This has worked well for me. I've not heard of subcutaneous for T.
