This film is surprisingly effective! It takes what is essentially a rip off of Groundhog Day, and turns it into a great comedic thriller, that keeps you guessing until the end. I love this flick, and don't feel the least bit bad about it!

If I could relive a day over and over? That's a huge open ended question Hon. First couple of weeks / months I'd try to figure out WHY! If unsuccessful for too long I would torment and torture the seriously immoral people of the world, I would live in mansions up for sale (not inhabited) , I would eat ALL the damn junk food I wanted, I would be utterly outlandish! The Joker would have nothing on me! I wouldn't bother helping anyone for it wouldn't change a damn thing as harming scumbags wouldn't. Knowing me which I do, it wouldn't be too long after tormenting, over eating and living as queen for a day would become tedious, boring and uneventful, I would seek a means to kill myself from the mind numbing chore of repeating a day (did I mention my one and only pet peeve is repetition, parroting, repeats etc.?), but in the process of attempting suicide I would have my opens for the cure to the seemingly endless loop.

I love this movie! If there's any justice in the world Jessica Rothe has a brilliant career in front of her. You gotta love the scene where she's struggling with the killer on a bed at the frat house party and some guy walks in on them, but when she asks him for help he shrugs it off as not his problem and leaves, because he thinks it's "just" a sexual assault. Rothe does this absolutely brilliant "dude are you fucking KIDDING ME?" look.

I actually really , really liked this movie. I normally don’t care for the horror comedy genre, I feel like many don’t pull it off, or may be I’m just seeing the bad ones. With this though, it was well balanced and the characters where decent. Tree I felt like was likeable because she wasn’t always a mean girl. It was more of a shift after her mom died. Where as a lot writers seem to write the ‘mean girl’ as a bitch from birth. (But then again it’s the whole point to her character) There were some things that bugged me, one you even pointed out, the roommate. How did she get in that particular sorority? It appears to be the stereotypical mean girl click. But there was the Asian woman and the one that was being made fun of (with the milk) that also seemed nice? I dunno. Just wish we could see more of the house I guess. Then the milk that I’m sure isn’t *actually* chocolate milk, it’s Hollywood chocolate milk, looks so odd. Almost like it’s thick? But not thick enough to be a shake? *THEN* there’s the time issue that *always* happens in this movies or tv episodes. In some parts she left earlier than she didn’t from the beginning which would mean she’d run into the gay guy later. Then she left at times later which (obviously) would cause everything to be later. At the weird guy, ‘save the earth girl’ , sprinklers ,etc would be off. The sorority house would still be on time most likely since she logically would only be a few minutes off. I know I’m being super picky about that but I feel like people don’t pay that close enough attention to that detail. PS if I looked aNyThInG like her I would absolutely walk around like that for a day without caring. It seems like it would be fun compared to dying every night. (It is odd that they added that as her having fun and not something else ) Byeeeee

Dang it - I had so low expectations of this movie that I decided to watch your review. Now I realize this is a well thought up story, a slasher movie with a character arc (pretty unique I dare say?!?). Too late for regrets. Maybe next time I need to skip all the way to the end and if the movie gets 3.5 bees or higher, I will first put this movie on my IMDB watchlist, and save your review for later....

My guy, stop asking me questions that are too hard to answer. I guess I’d do different shit for a while (various museums, hikes (easy to moderate bc I wouldn’t have time to train again)), and then I’d probably have to actually get good at video games and speed run the long ones so I could finish them before the day ends. Maybe learn a language and get into dance✨ It would be tedious to have to buy a new PS4 everyday, BUT I’d never have that money permanently gone. Every subscription I signed up for wouldn’t keep charging me. I could practice sewing or programming, but I’d never get to finish my work or keep it. I’d still probably build those skills. I’d be like Edward: just know everything bc I had time and was feckin bored

Speaking of "Groundhog Day," this "journey to maturity" was a pleasant surprise, since movies with this kind of title usually turn into garbage. Yep, this actress has an interesting future in Hollyweird. For a "bargain basement" version from the past, "12:01" is sort of a guilty pleasure.;) (And just to show that "I don't know anything," about movies, I thought the Canadian TV movie, "Overdrawn at the Memory Bank" deserved a larger budget for it's subject matter.)
