My Mother was amazing. Raised 6 kids on just my Dad's wage. My Dad earned the wage but my Mum done everything else. Until I was a mum, I never realised how hard it was for her. My Mum is 80, in a home with dementia. Speaking to a friend who had abusive parents and never mourned them, I said the only problem with having good parents is how hard it is to let them go 😥.

The comment about your kids dating a bell end and not thumping them made my husband and I laugh. Been there, done that, with both our children, a daughter and a son. I'm a father of two girls, but as a single parent and then carer to one of them I'll have been both mother and father for 23 years on the 25th March. I'd have to buy myself a card if I wanted recognition, but the reward is in itself. Thank you Katie, l can say yes l did it, ... bringing up my son with Aspergers as a single parent has been bloody hard and l sacrificed my life and happiness, it's been me and him since he was 3 and now hes 29 gosh. Two months ago he moved to Canada to live and l am now on my own and miss him terribly, but without me being a real mum helping him through all the traumas he probably wouldn't have gained the confidence to live a life in a different country so today l pat myself on the back whilst he is unaware its Mothers day in this country, the first one without him... I honour all the real mums out there. Well done for being you ❤ xx

How dearly I wish I could say Happy Mothers day to My Mum but she is no longer here. She was my adopted Mum as well, She was Beautiful, Clever, Tireless, committed and dedicated, loving, reassuring, gentle and wise and occasionally a complete and utter F/ing pain in the ass and I adore her. My mother has passed away but I went to speak to her today where she rests. I left a card thanking her for everything she did and sacrificed for us as a single mum after our dad passed when we were very young. She was a real mother.
