HAPPY NEW YEAR from Flock!

We had the whole Flock crew in town for the holidays, so we day tripped up to Skaneateles, which is a charming, historic town on the northern tip of Skaneateles Lake-one of the eastern most Finger Lakes in central upstate New York. There, we met in situ carolers mingling about town; visited and sampled from the local bakeries (highly recommend!); nosed around the antique shops; and even spoiled ourselves with a lovely spa day and lunch. Later on, we stopped by the Artisan and Food Winter Market at Press Bay, Ithaca and eventually got to start a fire in the wood stove together at the Meadow House. We forgot to get chestnuts to roast on the open fire-but perhaps another time!

I was in Skaneateles village around Christmas time and took a photo of an interesting old man. Then he yelled over his shoulder - "I should have charged you for that photo." I thought it was a bit unwelcoming for a tourist town until I realized I had just encountered Scrooge. I had to laugh at myself.

It was really neat to see the theatre group in situ, interacting with others and outdoors in character. I thought it ingenious! I wish I captured more of that footage.

That was beautiful! Thank-you for taking us around the shops with you, it gives us (me) a far better idea of what the Finger Lakes area is like. I could spend many happy hours in those antique and bric-a-brac shops. Sorry Joey but the missus absolutely steals the show! Seeing a mother playing with and kissing a young child is all kinds of wonderful! Nice to see you back in a video though

It was definitely a most charming town. Weather was a bit dour, but not enough to sour our walk. And it was SO cool to catch the theatre group dressed up in situ walking around and interacting with people. I wish we got more of that on camera. Everyone was "in character"...

Those small New York towns are so charming. Especially at Christmas time. The video brings back good memories of living in the Catskills. And a baby is now in the flock! What a wonderful surprise. Happy New Year to all of you.

Happy New Year! I love the charming town and all the quaint shops...and antiques. Simply lovely. Congratulations on the new baby and new member of Flock. ❤ So cute! The little woodburning stove is one of my favorites of the Meadow House..very rustic, and it looks like it gives out a lot of heat. Here's to a new, productive and healthy year ahead.
