The gags and jokes are really solid here. I’ve busted out laughing several times. “So this is detroid” got me good, and the way he was suddenly pulled into the chest was great. I think the pacing of the video, specifically the amount of empty pauses or moments where the characters are just standing there after saying something for several seconds, are things that could be easily touched up and would improve this tremendously.

Other than the characters just standing around in awkward silence at times this was great. Good work. Voice actors clearly need more experience under their belts too but it's fine for a first work. I honestly hope you guys turn this into a series with the characters going through each region I think it has potential to grow into something special. It's never going to be Happy Souls, but it shouldn't, I hope Happy Ring can grow into it's own little special thing we can remember fondly in the future.

@axios47024 ай бұрын
@@jesusvera7941 I was just rewatching it earlier. The jokes are on point I agree, but the voice acting comes across as voice acting. They have the spirit but the guys in happy souls felt more natural. This isn't a critique, it's to be expected from someone's first time compared to more professional people, it's honestly unfair to compare but inevitable given the legacy they are trying to pick up here. They'll get better with time.

I was waiting for the final version of this to drop for some time now, Happy Souls is one of my favorite videos of all time, I just love it so much. This project was clearly inspired by it and it was stated to be inspired by and a tribute to Jameserton's Happy Souls, it shows in a LOT of ways and in the end it's... okay. It's not bad, but it's not great too, it's alright. I don't want to be overly negative but I feel like it lacks a lot of what made Happy Souls special. The main problems here are the delays, where It feels like pauses are way too long, being somewhat uncomfortable, The artstyle, in which HS was 2D animated and it wasn't the best thing ever made, but it was charming and cute, and it along the lighthearted humor fit quite well with the video. This is 3D and seems to mix some other styles here and there to spice things up a bit, but I found them to be somewhat jarring, even more so on the "hand animated" 3D things to the parts that seemed to be animated by someone actually making the movements... although they did add some charm to it, but was a departure from HS which is a bit disappointing, and made things seem way more grim since the 3D models clash so much with the aesthetic of what is going on and being talked about, although it's understandable (or would be more understandable if this was set to be more of its own thing). The somewhat weird voice acting, feeling like it lacks some impact to deliver things. The lack of progression (They get the horse nonchalantly, use it once and then almost before the video ends ranni asks them about it, I even forgot that they got the horse), Also, the ad in the middle of this is just disappointing on a whole other level. Hell, I don't blame you, money is nice, and the transition screens were alright along with some of the jokes in it, but it lost a lot of its magic to have that in the middle of something that, at least from how its inspiration is, was only about 2 good friends having fun together in a game. Again, it was inspired by HS and a tribute to it but feel like it misses a lot that made that video so good and a pearl in the Dark Souls community. I said all that and yet I don't hate this, again, it's alright, I feel that with just some minor edits this video would already feel better. And if it really was the first real project of someone who was passionate about HS and Elden Ring and wanted a spiritual successor to it then congratulations. There was a lot of potential here and although things were far from perfect and "a little shitty, a little choppy, a little too noisy, a little too meta, a little too cringe, etc etc" as written in the description, you still did something that me and many others have been wanting for a long time. I hope to see more projects like this is the future, or at least similar things. If you keep at it you'll always improve, and you'll soon feel more and more happy about it... HAPPY... SOULS GUYS HAPPY SOUSLS!!1!

I love how there's just enough really good "professional quality" animation to let us know without a doubt that anything which may appear less conventional is an artistic and comedic choice. Awkward pauses, a character having fidgeting movements while standing in place, etc... someone did that. It would have been easier to literally just not. These were choices to convey a tone and I love it.
