I spent Thanksgiving alone this year. My children and grandchildren had other plans, but they checked on me. It was still a great day because I'm still among the living! Thank-you God for another day!

Ms Helenjackson8413, I am sorry you spent your Thanksgiving alone. But, be aware they are the ones who missed out. Being with family, especially those who are older than us is truly a time many of us wish we still had. I am almost 70 years old. I have out lived both my parents. They died at 60. I spend every moment with my children and grandchildren. I tell them daily how much I love them and they tell me how much they love me. It's because we do not know when God will take us. Hopefully, your children and grandchildren will read this and spend Christmas together with you. Have a blessed holdiay, Ms jackson.

Last year my mom & I sat at her dining room table & enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner together. The rest of my family went to my cousins house for Thanksgiving. The following Tuesday my mom passed unexpectedly. I am so thankful I was able to enjoy that last holiday with her. I really miss her ❤

I have a mixed family, my great grandmother was Irish and my great grandfather was from the West Indies. She wanted all her children born in the nations capital and they had to travel separately by train from Wilmington, Delaware to DC.

We don’t have thanksgiving in the U.K. but I remember growing up my mum had the willow pattern dinner set and we used to use it for Christmas Day dinner. Happy Thanksgiving.

I too was alone because my parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and the cousins I liked are deceased. As an only child with no children, I spent Thanksgiving alone. However, I cooked a big Thanksgiving meal, watched the Cowboys & Commanders, Supernatural on Netflix, and I was just thankful being in the land of the living because so many of my high school and college mates have passed away. I have several 1st cousins still alive but we don't communicate with one another. Although I was alone on Thanksgiving, I wasn't lonely.
