Also, if the people who wrote hate mail can't spell simple words and if they are young children, they shouldn't even be sending mail. All of these people think this is a kid's show. It's not. Just because it's animated and has a cute color scheme doesn't mean it's for kids. It's supposed to be irony (I guess?) if the intro and characters are babyish. For pete sake, on Netflix you can clearly see that it's rated TV-14, and the descriptions usually feature the words "gore", "gory", "blood", and "violence".

Sometimes, hearing hate mail is just rediculesly funny. Like, sure this show is confusing because it has the art style of a childs show, but the content isn't. It never was made for children and personally, violence and such are bad, but this is just a cartoon. So why bother hating on it? Sure, sounds pretty wrong to say you love the show for the violence in it, but that doesn't mean you have automatically problems. Also you can't blame the creators because there are people who like this or this show wouldn't even exist. And when you aren't up for it and watch a show by accident, you can't blame the creators. Just stop watching and watch something else what is more your thing instead of going all flaming on it for little reason. If you do not like the show just do not watch it! I used to avoid this show pretty well. It is not hard. And if you do not want your kids watching it, then just don't show it to them. HTF does not promote violence, most of the deaths are accidental and unrealistic, anyway.

If a kid is old enough and responsible enough to stay at home unsupervised, then they are old enough and responsible enough to have a taste in their own shows. If they're still into kid's shows, that's them. And it seems totally fine if at that age, kids start watching adult sitcoms like Grey's Anatomy and The Big Bang Theory. Yet Happy Tree Friends, a show filled with the most unrealistic scenarios ever that's aimed for people around their age, is too inappropriate. It's called dark humor. Lots of shows have it. It's even in Spongebob. It's just that this show happens to center around that form of humor and goes a bit over the top with it. It doesn't promote violence. Otherwise, tell me the last time someone became a mass murderer because they liked Flippy. And in the event that someone dies because their sweater shrunk at an impossible speed just because they're in the sun, tell me as well.

When the voice actors read some of the statements, I can imagine the words coming from the actual characters' mouths. For example, Petunia might hate her own show because she keeps getting killed and humiliated once a month.
