Random tip for the Solar Pillar: Fight it after the Vortex pillar, then get yourself a rod of ice and some blocks. Get close to the pillar itself, then plant down your blocks in midair with help from the ice rod. Build something of a horizontal square/rectangle around yourself , but leave firing holes to the sides and top. you can carve out 1-block holes in the bottom, but don't use platforms. LEAVE THE CORNERS OF YOUR CAGE INTACT. Then, grab the Vortex Beater and start firing out the side and ceiling holes. The homing explosive of the Beater will take everything out while keeping you out of range. Then, once the shield comes down, start firing out one of the side holes and kill off the Solar Pillar. (This is how I did it for the first time.)

Should re-do this challenge with 1.4. I've noticed that natural caves leading all the way down to the underworld are more common with the updated new world generation. Gem trees would be a way to acquire gems for crafting a gem hook in the early game. Larger connected caves have also been absolutely littered with Life Crystals as well so that would be easier. However, the revamped Desert underground would basically be a no-go. Grenades being able to hurt the player would disrupt some fights at least a bit. And then there's the changes to the dungeon. The Underworld also keeps generating a bit weird for me with the 1.4 update, such as buildings being overlapped and going off the edge of the traversable world map. Overall though, it probably wouldn't be overly different. Some changes here or there, but still mostly the same.

Noone else thinks he probably cheated? He never threw away his pickaxe, his base was perfectly rectangular with no extra blocks, even his fishing areas. And somehow, he was able to get down through the caverns without mining a single block when the holes normally are blocked after a while. Only the jungle area is supposed to be that open

What's more is that in the video, he randomly teleported to the part of the jungle nearing the underworld, but was somehow able to come back down after. 'He was too careful' there is no way there was no single extra block there even in his small fishing houses or spawn houses. Not a single one. This would be believable if there were some extra blocks that he accidentally put he couldn't mine. He made building videos before and he always accidentally puts an extra block and mines it. There was no way the whole playthrough there wasn't a single extra block. If he posted the full footage, I would have believed him, but this? I understand the reason for the pickaxe now, but still. I watched a lot of his Terraria challenges, but this seems a bit too over the top
