Growing up here in San Jose California which is 60 miles south of Oakland, it wasn't uncommon to see a group of H.A. riding down the 280 in formation or just out in public. (They aren't difficult to notice, you hear them way before you see them ) I haven't seen them ride in formation in well over a decade. I see an individual member every now and then, but those awesome loud menacing formation rides, where five or 10 of them are thundering down the road. If you've never seen one, it's one awesome sight, these guys pretty much take over the highway their riding on. Cars start moving out of their way, getting a lane distance from them. They are still here, you can see their famous San Jose club house & headquarters from the 280. The old Victorain house painted red and white with a large image of their logo. I imagine it's the heavy hand of government dispatched through SJPD have been cracking down on them very hard and violating their Constitutional rights. Rights that, yes even outlaw bikers have.

I've never met any HA's but I worked with a couple of Booze Fighters. One was an officer with bottles on his bike. They threw parties for civilians at their clubhouse sometimes. Fun parties! Beer tickets are cheap, drink what you can afford and don't get out of line and they invite you to the next one.

N.J. State øf Mind I ride both (M109R and Z1000SX) and I’ll say you need more balls to ride a cruiser than a sport bike at any given speed on the twisties and in a tight pack. An 800 lb bike without ABS is no joke in those situations.
