Harbor freight 36" Sheet metal brake and Mods.

Its a great bender right out of the box, but like most tools, they can always use a mod or 2...

Thank you for sharing Sir. How high the upper plate can go. I'm looking to get one and modified it to a 8 ft long to bend a 8 ft long stainless plate for my Mother's roof.Thank you very much.

I don't really understand what you are saying, but the bender is 36" long, I wouldn't try to modify this bender to make it longer, I would look for a 10ft brake or build one. Thanks for watching!

I have the same bender and am trying to bend 16ga sheet metal about 28" long. When I lift it to make the bend, the center doesn't make a crisp bend because the upper clamping bar is bending in the center. Just wondering if you have the same issue with yours. Or do I need to make some adjustments to the bridges to help it not flex? I am contemplating welding an angle to the back side of that upper clamp bar. What are your thoughts?? Thanks!

I had flex in the lower die, that is why I added the small braces on the rear. I defiantly think welding a brace on the top die would help. These benders are not designed to bend thicker metal for sure. Thanks for watching and committing!
