I’m doing something similar. I’m going to be building a battery pack holder that connects Dewalt cell packs to a DC/DC buck converter then to a distribution panel. It should be super light and roughly the size of a shoebox. I’m working on 3D prints for the box and connectors today. I expect the entire system to cost about $100 and give me 20amp hours. The Dewalt cells charge super fast and I can always have several in reserve.

I made something for a tiny battery to use for my Garmin fish finder. The marine battery I was using was way too powerful for the small wires . Went looking for a small battery box for the little battery and seen harbor freight had those boxes and I realized I had a few laying around. Gonna be nice saving a ton of weight in my boat

Great choice in box .....I have a a bright green one thats similiar . ..using a small 2 amp battery charger BY( Foval ) inside the box ... Carpet over the battery ...I like your videos

This is exactly what I've been looking for. Great no nonsense video, with a clean finished build. Would you recommend adding silicon to the cutouts in order to keep things as water tight as possible? Is there anything you would change after using it for a while?

I use it in my kayak and icefishing year around and haven't had a issue..... But you couldn't go wrong by going the extra step

I put a sonar fish finder, marine radio and breaker switches to control the 12 volt system on my boat using this box. Harbor Freight. All my switches are on the inside. Two 12 volt batteries below deck plug into the back side where the hinges are. Hmmmm....Now Im thinking my box is a little bigger. Anyway....the box can be taken off the boat for winter. I just thought of something...........a man overboard switch.

I built one with 18650s that didn't have that big of capacity in a 2800 size box that's 7s and I think 9p it's 585Wh with a 500w inverter and a couple USB ports and a buck converter for 12ish volts in some 2.1mmX5.5mm jacks and I have started on a big one in I think the 5800 maybe it's the 4800 I don't know it does have the wheels but I got some higher capacity cells for that and it is like 1.3Kw battery but the inverters I keep getting keep blowing up but my goal was to power a 120v inverter based flux core welder which I think a good 2000w inverter should be fine I mean it only has a 15A plug but it's the space constraints and that cheap Chinese inverters lie

New to battery boxes. My question is what can these be used for and how Telford you recharge them? I like to fish and camp, so are these good for recharging cell phones? Or plugging in my ninja foodies? What about an air conditioner while camping? Any tips of exactly what these can do would be great.

I'm just a redneck that likes hunting and fishing. I use mine for my fishing graph and charging my phone with the 23ah battery I bought. It very easy to charge, simply hook up the charger to the red and black pins on top

how do you charge it? through the banana posts? Also, do you worry about charging a lifepo battery without a bms? Im working on piecing together a build like this but with a few extra charge posts (tbd) and some marine speakers. Right now the hardest thing to look for and trust are batteries.

I charge through the posts. I called and talked to a Dakota Lithium tech and he said no worries on charging in the case.

It's sealed pretty tight minus the parts I put on. I also added foam inside to lock in the battery. It would definitely float long enough to secure if flipped.

What source do you use to buy the rocker switches, components etc? I missed what you said the quick disconnect was going to hold and what the LEDs were for.

Bought everything through Amazon as far as electronics. The quick connection is for my fishing sonar for icefishing and my kayak. The led lights are just for occasional light source when needed.
