I've never tried a orbital buffer so I could judge anyways. I been using rotary for over 20 years and been looking at the Bauer line of tools lately it seems like there just getting better and seems like harbor freight is stepping up there game!

@@apexdetail85 There's no doubt that you have experience, the techniques that you apply clearly shows that you're well rounded and have studied your craft. Though there's obviously a lot of other detailing posts, once I honed in on you, and Apex detailing, I knew I needn't waste my time watching other detailing posts. Not to stoke your ego, but you have vast knowledge and are a great teacher! I truly appreciate you, Apex detailing and look forward to seeing and hearing more from Apex. I don't consider detailing as my job, it's truly my passion, also my therapy as it frees my mind from taking care of my wife whom suffers from schizophrenia (which makes every day a challenge). I currently only have two polishers, a Griot's garage 6inch random orbital and a Dewalt variable speed (mostly use Dewalt for boats).Had a Meg's mt300 that I purchased used and it literally snapped in half on me? Any advice on what polisher I need to save up for next and what pads would be truly appreciated! Since I'm on a limited budget, used is certainly okay with me. Once again, I truly appreciate you, my brother.... Jimmy Chauvin (The Mobile Detailing Perfectionist)

He wasn't around when detailing became my thing. So I spent, and spent, and spent, and spent. Even on your own you do tend to pick up on things. But, your bank account will hate you lol. Man. I'm just starting out again. I had grits g9,,tons of microfiber rags,,good rags, all the polishing pads,, compounds, polishes, waxes, sealent,,etc etc. I grew up with my dad painting cars and I love to detail vehicles. It's a break from stress and an enjoyable hobby. But my house was broken in to that I was renting and all I mean all were stolen by folks that have an addiction to drugs. (I still pray for them)...…I still have my 6.5 hp 16 gallon shop vac, blower,Ridgid and my aluminum jack. Thank God. I hope I'm the first commenter. Lol..,I work every day but being separated from the love of my life I see it taking a long time to begin thinking about replacing my detail products. I think about it everyday,,cry about it,everyday. Just can't understand why ""people"" did me that way when a lot of vehicles,I did for free,,just to be a friend to a few that the world shuns,,but my heart breaks for. .Thanks for the video. And may God continue to bless you ,your family and channel. Toby Creed

Harbor freight is clearly paying attention to trends and adjusting their course. Fantastic content with the tear down & tips on new grease. 20mm isn't typically entry level, but as you said for an enthusiast who uses this 3-4 times a year this might do the trick. I myself would take a step down in throw and up in price for the entry level G9 and be more patient with my correction, but always nice to have local options available as you mentioned.

Great review Brian, concise and to the point. I do however think your a bit to critical on a couple of points. All in all very good. My name is Brian as well. I have owned a small detailing company here in Concord North Carolina for about 38 years. I like yourself i presume have used every polisher on the market both budget and professional. This little unit is a beast. I have 4 technicians that use this unit on a daily basis and swear by it. I also being the owner and the most experienced can't recommend this unit enough. We have had no issues at all with any of the 6 machines i purchased 3 months ago to replace the overpriced Rupes LHR 15ES Big Foot. Again good review. This is just my opinion!!! Have a great day!

While I don't use this polisher much, whenever I do decide to use it (just because I have it) the trigger lock does piss me off haha. As you say it needs to go in all the way and not as easy as pushing the thumb on the side of the handle. Don't think they test these products much In the hands of professionals.
