so, why did you end up cutting a hole in the saddle pad? It seems like your idea was working. Is there some reason you had to remove the bolt from under the rubber pad? Seemed like it could just stayed there until you installed it again, Did i miss something? Thanks. Just trying to understand.

Why you cut a hole is the rubber pad. You know that you can easily take it off with a flat head screwdriver.

I wanted to keep the pad glued on, so I wouldn’t misplace it.

You are supposed to remote the footing from the jack, (you seem to have left it attached under the middle of the cross bar)its supposed to be removed completely and attach directly to the crossbar. be careful that's not safe
@motofun722 жыл бұрын
Thanks, but I’m confused. I’m all about safety, so tell me at what minute/second in the video are you talking about?
@DacAL_8 Жыл бұрын
@@motofun72 I believe you already removed that square metal piece that’s originally on the jack and placed the crossbar without it. I’m not sure Patrick G probably didn’t watch the whole video.

Depends on type of jack used maybe. The Pittsburgh jack I have, after the saddle is removed, the square base is the forging to which the jack lifting arm and stabilizer arm attach. It can't be removed.

It appears to be limited to use for SUVs and cars rear ends as it looks to high to fit under most cars front ends due to air dams etc.

if that's a problem drive the car onto some scrap 2x4s laying flat so you get a little extra clearance.

What is the height of it so I can determine if it will fit under my car?

The jack goes down to 3.25 inches. I say the crossbar need at least another 3.5-4 inches. That’s a guess.

No sure. Check their site. I remember it saying it wouldn’t fit all jacks and it listed them out. Site should have the information.

Just got this set up in orange today. Is the side play suppose to be in there? Like if you use the ring that came with it made it nice and tight. Wouldn’t you rather want it tight Vs how lose it is?? Tia.
@motofun722 жыл бұрын
I agree, I do like things tight! However, I didn’t even try the spacer/ring thing. Maybe I will try it next time. I almost went with orange, but they didn’t have the crossbar in orange, so I went with black.

I’m not sure that there’s any real advantages here with a crossbeam bar. Hopefully it won’t snap or bend or tilt. Physics won’t allow the beam to go to far out. You can put it under the pinch welds. I like the jack., but I’ll pass on this beam. Thanks

If the cross bar comes with its own bolt, why did you cut the center pad up so much to remove the bolt? You could leave it (the bolt under the pad) t in place if not needed for the crossbar. What was the purpose of that? Please admit it because otherwise this video seems a bit confusing.
