My understanding of the bar is that it's not there incase the hydraulics fail, It is there so you can release the pressure from the Hydraulics allowing the bar to carry the weight. So the hydraulics are not in play when the bar is in place.

Awesome! If you work on your own bike/bikes this is an absolute necessity in my opinion. So much more pleasant than bending and stooping and kicking your tools, nuts and bolts all around the garage floor.

+Jack Rust Agreed, they put them on sale last weekend again for $296 so I couldn't pass it up this time. I looked at motorcycle jacks but for the money it would seem a full lift is much more practical.

Excellent lift for the money, I paid $250 on sale. Only thing I did not like about the lift was the front stop and block. I did not install the stock stop block and upgraded with HF motorcycle wheel chock, item #60392 or #69026. #1 thing before use.....SERVICE THE BOTTLE JACK......it was bone dry when I unboxed. Service tip, use a small medicine dropper. I've had mine for over 2 years, no problems! I have pics of my upgrade to the stop block, let me know and I 'll send.

Change Your adjustment towards the wheel stop .then you'll be touching with the wheel stop and be centered with the vise.

I am glad to see a review of this with a 500+ lb. ADV bike on it. As the ADV bikes tend to be taller (making the tables more "tippy") than a low slung cruiser. I have a 'strom and will be getting one of these tables as soon as they get my new garage done next month. Thanks for the vid!
@IdahoDualSport7 жыл бұрын
This is a highly recommended lift. I have 2 friends who have vstroms that use these. one has a 650 and the other a 1000 and both bikes do great on this lift.

Great video and review. I am interested in buying one of these. Can you confirm what the maximum height of the stand is when completely lowered? I am trying to figure out if this could fit under a trailer in my garage. Storage space is at an all time premium, and when not in use, I would like to have it fit under my trailer. Thanks!
@IdahoDualSport7 жыл бұрын
Sure so the deck sits at 8-3/8". The wheel chock sits at about 14.5 but it's at the end of the lift. I back my 2wd GMC sierra over it just fine to park in the garage with the wheel chock right under the bumper. Works out great.
@Airel177 жыл бұрын
To bleed the pump you hold down the release pedal and pump the up pedal then release the down pedal and try the lift again if still doesn't respond try again and the fluid check bolt is on the side of the pump which happens to be the top when laying horizontally. It's perspective I guess lol. But I've seen some really Bad Manuels.

I think you can move the wheel clamp forward - other reviews show additional holes for positioning the clamp. How difficult is it getting the bike on and off? if you have no centre stand (or can't get it onto the centre stand) is there room for it to rest on the side stand?
@IdahoDualSport8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there's room for it to rest on the side stand but every bike is different. A friend of mine has these improved clamps that would hold the bike upright by themselves until you get it strapped down. goo.gl/JGuiU9
@crawfordoverton32998 жыл бұрын
Also you should put tire up to stop because the center of weight pivots back ward it will center weight also find a board for floor and have it in front pan so when it come down it will rest keeping it from tipping forward. My trikes I ride up on way to heavy to push up.
@170bcuda7 жыл бұрын
Nice video. I just picked one up today for $279. I had to install the wheels on mine, plus the tire vise and stop. All ez stuff. I checked the pump res before I pumped mine up. It was empty, also mine has a funky rubber plug, not a set screw. I have a 73 kaw 900 on mine and it has no issues. I found the entire painted deck surface to be extremely slippery, so I will install some grip strips.

Keep in mind you put the wheel lock all the way to the back move them to the front and your wheel will hit the stop and be up on the lift on the bike at the same time.

You can also move the tire clamp forward, then it may work better.

Great vid! I bought mine last Sunday, but it's still in the box waiting to assemble in the am. Good to know how short my morning will be with the simple setup. I thought I'd need help getting it off my truck, but it looks easy enough. Thanks!

Awesome! I've had this lift for about 6 months now and I have to say it's been really nice! I should have bought one of these a long time ago. Definitely a breeze to setup too so I'm glad the video gave you some insight.

If you look on ramp pins they have holes suppose to be bent washers and cotter pins which hold the ramp on unit and no need to take off and on, when coming down it just slide on floor . Also keeps it in place while loading bike .I have a china trike it fits great just need a scissor under rear frame and lifts up and wheels are free to service brakes and tires.
@IdahoDualSport8 жыл бұрын
Interesting, I hadn't noticed that... I'll have to take a look next time I'm in the garage. Thanks for sharing!
@dnice44315 жыл бұрын
Seriously dude the nuts go on the bottom and the bolts go down through the top. Also you're supposed to put the safety bar through and then release the hydraulic pump so that the bar holds the weight and not the pump. It will drastically increase the life span of that pump.

I'd like to get one of these to work on my racing mowers. Problem is they're not wide enough. Do you think it's possible to build some side extensions for it.
@IdahoDualSport7 жыл бұрын
Depending on how wide the mower is it might still support it, I had my daughters 4wheeler on it which you can see in this video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6bYhKSbabhjeKs but yeah, if you wanted to you could extend it by welding some additional steel onto it in order to widen it. I don't see why that would be a problem, it definitely has enough lifting power for a mower.
@donraabe69307 жыл бұрын
LowlySteward our rules state know wider than 42". Just don't know how a person would fasten them. Great video

Good Review, but at 9:20, the Phillips head plug you show, that's not the bleed valve. If you removed the plug, that's ok, but NEVER mess with the screw inside. That's the factory pre-set pressure relief valve. (ask me how I know..) The Oil Plug (and bleed opening) referred to is above that on the 'side' of the jack bottle but pointing up. It's painted red from the factory, but first time you touch it with a screwdriver the paint will flake off and you can see it's just a black rubber plug. Use a thin screwdriver to carefully pop it out. Don't lose it. HF can't sell you one.
@IdahoDualSport6 жыл бұрын
Good info, thanks Paul! I need to get out there and check on this.
@rickmcclain4236 жыл бұрын
Paul, i messed with the inside screw thinking it was the oil fill hole. Any advice? My jack won't pump up. Thanks
@davetechme4 жыл бұрын
@@rickmcclain423Did you ever get it sorted? I removed that inner screw thinking it was the fill hole as well. The correct fill hole is midway up the cylinder and painted red. I thought it was a bolt without a slot at first but it's a rubber plug that you can pop off with a screwdriver. I screwed down that inner screw all the way down tight. I then pumped mine up to the first safety bar position, popped off the fill hole and put some oil in it but not to the point the oil level was at the top. I figured if I filled it to the top while the piston was midway extended, I might possibly overfill it. I resealed it and checked that I was able to pump to the top position, checked that it wasn't leaking, and called it a day. Are we suppose to leave that inner screw open slightly?

Cool. I was thinking about picking one of these up for the R6 work I'm doing (videos coming up). You'll definitely want to tie that down. Wrenching on nuts can easily tip it. You can also use regular front and rear stands to lift it. I'd worry about the back and forth too which is why I'd probably put it on a front and rear stand. Plus, how sturdy is that stand if you were to rock it back and forth? Pretty solid? Looking forward the additional videos!
@IdahoDualSport8 жыл бұрын
+Heretic Raider I did end up strapping it down, I have little ones running around so I try to keep things as safe as I can. The lift is extremely sturdy and solid, I watched some reviews on motorcycle jacks and they all seemed a bit wobbly to me and they cost around $150 so I figured for $300 I would be getting a solid lift that's much safer and plus I can set tools on it while I'm working.
@hereticraider55728 жыл бұрын
+LowlySteward Good to know. Those are definitely the way to go to get the bike up so you're not on your knees. If you're taking the wheels off its still a great stand too. Great to see the harbor freight version. Thanks!

Why do people assume that if the hydraulics fail, the stand will crash to the ground. What would actually happen is that it might slowly sink overnight until it's resting on the stops, hardly a 'catastrophe'
