Mine Operator University, and Harry's videos could be used for learning. There is so many things to do before and after a blast. Professor Harry is doing great.
@scuss2Ай бұрын
Harry, your videos are very detailed on all the things you have to do before and after blasting. 05:13 to 05:30 the energy drink wore off and I thought I heard the chipmunks talking, lol! 09:21 Let the Miner show us how easy this is. 22:42 I did that to my Crescent wrench and now it won't open all the way, and it was made in the USA. I could find a lot of uses from that waste rock. A person has to have a creative mind to think of the uses it can do. The finer stuff is good to put on the road to and from the mine. If I had to be hunched over moving bags, I would invest in a $600.00 Battery powered wheelbarrow. I'm sure creative minds could buy 2 and make one a flatbed. The operator stands behind or buy the fancy model that you the tired miner can sit on. No emissions. I saw a 60 volt that was impressive. Some sites will show a video of the machine at work. Cash in some of that gold and work smarter not harder. You could rupture a disc in your spine lifting hunched over then the rest of your life after a fusion is pure hell. Be aware of your body mechanics and practice proper lifting. Can't you blast so that you can stand up in your man cave? Can you blast in a pyramid shape? Point at the top and fat at the bottom so you could stand up straight and chase your vein where you need too. Would that work?

Did they train you in the shockwave frequencies for breaking soft and hard rock? This is the timing of the shots to break the rock into a given size. There is a science behind this. If you have clay in your area, this comes in handy to stop the water flow in your drilled holes. It looks like you have enough training to have this process worked down to a science.

Where do you get the paper tubes you use to make your "stemming sausages"?
@mineoperatorАй бұрын
I use a tube or pipe 1/8" diameter smaller than the drill hole and roll up very thin paper (1'x1') and put a small strip of thin masking tape.
@scuss2Ай бұрын
Harry was asked this question in the video and In the paint section and where the masking tape isle is located there are paper tape rolls in various widths. Thin but workable brown paper rolls. Masking tape is applied to one end of the paper roll and the contraption is used to mask off areas you don't want to get paint on that surface. Blue masking tape can be used for easy removal but I always use regular masking tape. They are fun to use and give excellent results.

@mineoperatorАй бұрын
Yes, I know of mines that do use spray foam but there there will be foam turds everywhere, its expensive, MSHA will make us keep an SDS on it, more paperwork hell. 3/8" minus stemming is almost free, and easy to make.

I'm curious how much gold do you think is being discarded as waste and how do you determine it is waste
@mineoperatorАй бұрын
The old timers blasted the waste and ore and ran it all in a production mill as we would. The issue is the gold came from a secondary intrusion and the standard quartz is too low grade without the Telluride/gold pay streak. If you build a mill at this mine, expect to build it every year as the snow will wipe the Mt. clean every year. If you trucked in a mill you would not make enough money to pay for the dual operation. At a poor boy scale you can make money as this mine is doing at our scale.

I don't understand why you 2 are having such a hard time blasting. Last winter I was drilling 9 holes - 4.8 inches deep and filling them with 1 M80 fireworks each. I was driving the shaft - 6-6.26 feet tall X 5 feet wide X 7 feet deep. I was able to remove 11 Tons of ore in 5 days. I thank Jason Garber allowing us channel subscribers to work his mine during the 2023 winter off season. I'm still processing the ore I extracted, but I'm already smelted almost 1 pound of gold. Jason has told the subscribers he plans to allow us access to the mine's 2024 winter off season. That man is a true Saint.
