I went there on a 4th of July. I could of been the last year. They had a promo. 17.76 for four admissions. And then 17.76 for lunch for four. It was a great time for the price. But this place wasn't worth the normal price of admission. Its was freestyle when we went. They had great fireworks that night

I Worked There, Both HRP and Freestyle I must have maybe 400 photographs, mainly of HRP One memory is when a call came in to a supervisor, Herman, that a Red Bag incident took place. I was standing next to him, so he told me to go. What had occurred was a guest has ate a pulled pork sandwich. Then he went on a roller coaster. There was pulled pork vomit from the exit of the ride to the nearby bathroom. While there were trash pails and bushes that the man could've expelled his stomach. He chose to bring it to the furthest point there was, into the bathroom sink. Yes, the sink was filled and clogged. To clean it I had no gloves, no red bag, no anything. However, members of the elite Hard Rock Park echelon were there as "Auditors". Yes, there was am upper class of workers. The auditors, with their clip boards, were two young women, maybe 23. Since I use to audit elsewhere, I'm going to audit them. The vomit in the sink, I scooped up with a soda cup, washing down the drain the rest. I dumped the cup in the outside trash pail. I cleaned up the vomit by kicking it around and using old napkins in the trash. Later I heard the two Auditors wrote that everything was done correctly. Note to readers; how many mistakes did you notice ? These Auditors did not do their job should be listed. Later I was promoted to the park's Recycling Coordinator. My efforts saved thousands of dollars in the park's Trash Budget. Tho' not enough to save the park from bankruptcy. I ask the readers that lived far away. Did you see or hear of any Hard Rock Park ads whether on TV, radio or newspapers ? That's mainly because much of the Promotions Department budget went up their noses. Knowing full well I was not going to be receiving my last paycheck, I kept my uniform. At one time I had over 150 of the HRP landyard, as I scooped them from the trash. They were taken from employees, because former employees were still coming into the park for free. Management needed to stop this. When Freestyle Music Park was hiring, Susan told me that there would be no recycling. I thought that was odd, as she knew very well that recycling saved $$$ at the former park.As if the new park had plans to go under, before it ever opened ... To this day I will not eat a pulled pork sandwich. Lastly, the founders retired with more money after the bankruptcy than before.

I just went to Freestyle music today, wanting to do some urban exploring... they have a tall chain link fence with plastic blinder strips surrounding the park. I found a small hole cut in the fence (yes found, I didn't cut it) and went in. I was there maybe 15 minutes and got about 50 shots, before a couple people drove up and stopped me. the passenger got out and asked how I got in, I told him, and he said, "We can't let you walk around here, if the owners saw this they'd have the law out here." I told him I was just taking pics, not vandalising or stealing, but that I'd leave... they then let me go the way I got in. He was understanding and polite, but direct...I say this so you know they apparently have security patrolling the park (he had a casual security uniform anyway) and there might be cameras. Nature has taken back this place, and in one building I found a bunch of hangers, displays, and boxes of plastic 'freestyle park' gift bags. I headed over to medieval times to see how close I could get to the front gate, but you can't get real close, and blue car drove up by that time. I wish I'd been able to see the whole, or even most of the park, but I got to keep my pics, and I'm not in jail...so woo! As to why the park closed, I don't know the deepest details, but according to a local server I talked to, she said many local businesses were given free passes and encouraged to promote the park to tourists, but that they ended up going under due to "embezzling, backbiting, and illegal business practices between the owners". Looks like it might've been a cool place, sad that it's just been left to rot.

There a back entrance by Midieval Times and the church. I was given permission to go by one of the new owners. Tho, out front in the parking lot was that small Human Resources building. In there on the floor are hundreds of old Hard Rock park job applications. With names, addresses, SS numbers. Take a better look at them and one will see that South Carolina has many students graduating with no skills on spelling, math, and many other skills needed. However, those lack of skills are not needed when a scammer needed easily available personal information ...

We went in 2008 when it first opened. We had a blast, a lot of the rides were operating, and hardly anyone inside. We pretty much had the run of the place to ourselves! We got on every ride immediately, and had basically a whole days worth of fun in under 2 hours. I think they just chose a bad time to open.

You know it's funny be all the parks in Myrtle Beach were never busy. We used to during fourth of July week, hard rock, the pavilion, family kingdom, even the water parks never had long lines. They were great parks, had a lot of fun. Shame to see them all closed now.

Such a shame this place failed. It had the potential, especially after the Pavilion closed to fill the void, but it just seemed so unfinished. Didn’t have that many rides and they overcharged for admission. Myrtle Beach still needs a new theme park. The Pavilion was the place for me.

Went in on the Medieval side about a year or year and a half ago. I did have someone pulling up in the front parking lot from afar, ducked back by entrance for a little bit until they pulled off. Then I explored as much park as I could, lots of over growth and water damage in some buildings. Pretty much everything was scrapped as much as they could without knocking things down but definitely had a blast! I just grabbed a map and went to all of the attractions and rides.

Not a whole lot of "then" pictures or videos from when the Hard Rock Park was open. Very sad. This park had a ton of thought, care and hard work put into it. And the theming was incredible! It rivaled that of Islands of Adventure or DisneySea. It definitely had a lot of potential. Unfortunately, the time and place it was created at was just not good for it to be successful. Had it been built 5 years later and in a warmer climate, like Florida, Texas or California it could have been a year 'round park and may have survived.

I am fascinated by all the businesses that do not survive being Myrtle Beach. Do you know what in the world happened? Bad location? Overhead too high? Poor management? It seems like it would be a really good idea. I wonder what happened to the people who invested in this project? What a waste of money, resources eye sore for the city and loss of jobs.

This old park should be demolished as to be left with nothing seeing it’s fully vandalized and there was some fires involved. As to say this place could be reconverted into a new theme park for fairytale adventures and fantasy’s as a new dragon show with a talking dragon and all of King Arthur and his knights almost like a castle adventure land. But also maybe a new golf course. Though this place can use another park too for battleship park as for battleship adventures and fighting wars of fun but have a huge gift shop and snack bar but stands and rides as that be something exciting and new for Myrtle beach excitement.
