at that level its hard to play an enabling character. You have to get even slightly decent at a play making character and just solo force your way up for a bit.

As much as people like to pretend it isn't the case, Mercy is hard to actually consistently rank up on since you have very personal little swing in the fight outside of rez. If your DPS just isn't doing well, then she loses use out of most of her kit (Pocketing heals and Damage Boost) and you'd be better off playing Supports who can engage themselves as opposed to purely enabling others. There's a reason why several people gave up on Unranked to GM/Top500 climb Lifeweaver only and why there's few Unranked to GM Mercy videos in comparison to others; because enabling heavy characters force you to rely on your team's skill.

it's a system that only cares if you win or lose. It doesn't care how well you play the game, or your picks, or how many great plays you might make. All it cares is if your team makes hte payload go one pixel further or not. There is no reward for playing your heart out as Mercy. There is no consideration for "personal skill" here - in the Overwatch SR system, a mediocre but functional genji has way more "value" than a top 10 Mercy or Mei.

It was probably something completely dumb and insignificant. It takes absolutely nothing to get some OW players real riled up. They're just that insecure. I was once hard targeted and t-bagged by a Doomfist in QP, because I played Widow. I had like 3 elims or something and was testing her out a bit (so clearly a new player on her), but he would jump me absolutely every time I made my way out of spawn, insta kill me and then t-bag and spam that chivalry voice line. When I asked him in chat what I did, he got real fucking personal to the point where I had many reasons to report him...

They would chase me off the map, wait for me outside my spawn room, everywhere! And even solo ult me ... i end up leaving those games because they truly are unplayable and i have 0 fun against those toxic immature kids

I get that the enemy would want to target a Widow, it just makes sense, so a Sombra or Tracer harassing me is obviously something I have to live and deal with. But the entire team going out of their way to hard camp you and make sure you won't even make it out of spawn is when it's personal and that's when it's not ok imo. Especially in QP games, like... people just want to play the game a bit...

I don't play tank much anymore but I get the feeling the Rein was trolling and/or probably exceptionally high. Because some of his firestrikes look like they're purposefully aimed to miss. I got nothing on that Doom tho,; guessing they'd had a string of bad games probably with whoever was on the other team as support and was taking it out on them.

As a diamond 1 tank, I believe the pros call what the doom did in the beginning as “i created space” :p I also do this on my rein, but I get a few kills and my team cleans up

It seems like both the doom and the brig on his team were both higher than bronze. Most bronze don't know how to use their kit, and they seemed very aware of the map and their character usage, but they were just trolling. The brig was aware of the mercy's health even when she was spawn camping first point meaning she was aware of her team while going off on a whole other side quest (bronze typically tunnel vision), she was hitting her whipshots and was very aware of the difference in skill level when she was bullying the enemy team in spawn before she jumped off the map to swap lw I became convinced when I saw the (now) lw react with a petal platform to trap the enemy lw out of spawn so they could kill him. 17:10 That was definitely intentional and I'm sorry, but bronze do not have or use strats like that either. I think the doom and brig were duod and either smurfing or deranking and trolling

You say the Rein wasn't healed, but considering the support heroes I don't find it too surprising. Brig was probably out og packs which means either Brig or Lucio had to move to get over to the Rein. Which Lucio did eventually, but I get that it took time. Also I'm not sure the Brig knew they had inspire. Maybe part of the reason they're stuck in bronze.

ive been in that position of the LW before sadly, me being a mercy and the other, rein. literally being targeted by a rein, him leaving his other teammates to fight for their lives on point just to spawn camp while i was fighting for my life in team chat and being bullied cause i couldnt leave spawn and kept getting killed because he wants me to "get off mercy". props to that LW tho, i wouldve switched to kiri damn

The same happened to me as mercy:( i was "new" at her but good enough to go on comp, but a moira was looking for me just to kill me everytime i respawned They weren't even healing their teammates.. i had to switch to moira (i was moira main) to kill her for good until she stopped trying to mess with me

Mercy, 100% you did a good job. It's a teamgame and sadly if your team is just too bad, you can't win the game. But there is a + to knowing that. Sometimes you see ahead of time when the game is unwinnable, not because of you, and you don't have to feel sorry for losing.

That’s funny because I had that exact same scenario happen earlier 😭 Had a dva on shambali who was quite literally in the enemy spawn the entire game. Never once on cart, never once came back for heals, and trashes me on ana because I wasn’t healing him The team also had this really funny habit of knowing there was a genji/widow in our backline on multiple occasions and not doing anything about it. Like the 4 of us would turn around and fight, and then everyone but me would just fuck off and walk away without actually killing them. Just a shitshow of a game tbh
