I am unlikely to get either of these but watch the whole videos because you crack me up. Keep up the great work.

have you gone back and play the coop version of hardback?

Thank you for comparing this w/ it's predecessor Paperback. I enjoyed Paperback, but the set up & game length make me think I may appreciate Hardback more, since it has a end game timer built in. (Come to think of it, so did Paperback, w/ the word lengths). Which game tends to play through in less time?
@kosterix1235 жыл бұрын
Hb goes to 60 points, aka stars. It can easily take 75 minutes. We usually play until 30 points when we're tired.

Do you think i can play this game making dutch words? In Paperback its not possible because of the frequency of letters and their cost. Those are based on Englisch words etc.
@rahdo4 жыл бұрын
great question, i don't really know, but ask here: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/223750/hardback/forums/0 and i'm sure you'll get a well considered answer :)

I find that the factions in Star Realms makes the card buying choices too obvious in some cases (for example, "there are 2 cards that cost 5, but this is in-faction, so I'll get it"). Do you see a risk of that making decisions too obvious in this game as well? Or is there enough decision space in the word creation and letter selection that obviousness in faction choice is a benefit?
@kosterix1235 жыл бұрын
Good question, actually nothing is obvious in hb, because there are so many cards.

We played hb tonight, it's such an awesome world you step into. Wow. Don't know, don't care about paperback. Hb is enough to last us for years, and we haven't even touched the expansion or AI.
@rahdo5 жыл бұрын
wow, maybe i should check out HB again!

Paperback is the only deck builder my wife will play. Here is hoping for lightning to strike twice.
@kosterix1235 жыл бұрын
Hb is not a deckbuilder. It's more akin to star realms. You choose what to specialize in depending on circumstances. If you want a deckbuilder your wife will enjoy, try Valley of the kings afterlife, or Concordia.

I may like to trade or sell Paperback away in order to pick up Hardback, possibly.

I can't decide between one and the other. And Tom Vasel says almost the contrary (Hardback, to him, is more complex)
@kosterix1235 жыл бұрын
Nonsense. It's not complex. It's rich, that's different. Tom Vaseline is American, for them everything is complex.
