I got up to Eclipse 7 with Mul-T before the Mithrix nerfs and I gotta say, this is a much more doable challenge now that they nerfed the boss so much. He was so damn difficult beforehand that I dreaded facing him. Now it's more so a test of your general mechanics, and just a bit of grinding can get you here if you're consistently obliterating/beating the boss on Monsoon anyway. Either way, great job beating this.

@@revleckbendon2745 You can still cheese him, kind of. If you have multiple fuel cells and all of your charges are regenerated when he steals the fuel cells it doesn't take all of the charges. This means during the last phase you can use equipment like the royal capacitor multiple times on him, as soon as he is vulnerable. If you are regenerating charges, though, when he is taking your items you will be set to 1 charge for your equipment.

you don't I lost a run on like eclipse 4 or 5 bc of it. You must acquire hopoo, head-stat, transcendence, milky chrysalis, or volcanic egg to survive with specific characters (at least guaranteed survive, you can always pray teddy procs). You can also save a Dio's specifically for the fall, if encountered. If you get to boss fight without any protection, check Lunar shops first for transcendence, then go for item shops on the left if no transcendence, as coming back from the item shops is also deadly without similar items.

E5 actually makes corpsebloom good. E8 made me preemptively position better. I really enjoyed doing eclipse runs changing decision making and generally made me a stronger player. Hope they do seasonal eclipse events or maybe reset and add rewards. EDIT: Also Mithrix is busted on Acrid. I don't get ANY items back until I kill him.

Yeah, that item regain rate is REALLY bad. It should be every 6-7% of health you do damage you get a stack back. That way you get about 8 stacks back at around half health, which should give you 2-4 damage items back, depending on how many you had initially.

Honestly, the easy concept fix for this would be to tie it to the percentage health Mithrix has lost and nothing else. That way you aren't getting most of your items back after the fight is already over.

@@nameq Did you even watch the video? 1: Mithrix, after the 1.0 hotfix, is immune during item stealing, so that's impossible. 1.5: Even if he wasn't, tying it to health could only kick in after he finishes channeling, which would cause an immediate vomit of items proportional to how much damage you did. 2: Getting 12/42 items or 9/25 stacks of items by the end of the fight isn't something to write home about. That's about 20% / 40% of your items, and Woolie was lucky here. You could easily end up with less just because. 3: I've heard from other comments that getting items back from Mithrix is a proc chance. If that's true, that means you have no control over getting your items back beyond "hit him and hope your lucky". Certain characters are also outright worse at fighting Mithrix just because their poor proc chance cannot let them get their items back (especially Acrid). Plus you are then shafted for fighting Mithrix in a longer run because that small number of items you get back is a substantially smaller percentage of your overall item pool. TLDR: The entire gimmick is cool, but poorly executed. A reliable way to gain your items back across any character is needed for us to stop being salty about it.

@@nameq If I had to attribute it to any one thing, it would probably be the Hopoo statement in Dev Thoughts #17 that 4th Phase Mithrix is supposed to be an "oh crap" moment, not the hardest / most challenging phase of the fight. The issue arises that, because Mithrix has a far better and more varied item selection than any on-spawn scavenger, you don't have any items yourself, and the fact that you're unlikely to remove the powerhouse items fueling Mithrix during that phase, that "moment" becomes several anxiety-filled minutes of being uber-cautious because unlike any other phase, a hit from 4th Phase Mithrix is more than likely to kill you and end the run. While it may not ultimately be the best way to handle the situation, changing the way items are stolen back so that you have everything by the time Mithrix is dead is a sure-fire way to make the 4th phase closer to what its intent was supposed to be.

Just realised that the teleporter has a tone that plays that blends in with the music. The closer you are to it to louder and more noticeable it is. I play with headphones and noticed a tone in my left ear i turned towards it and it changed position. After turning a few times i found out it was coming from the teleporter. Mithrix only seems to (consistently) be cheesed via fall damage when playing with the Eclipse [4] modifier for Increased Enemy Speeds. He zooms too fast, the momentum he carries through his swing causes him to ascend ridiculously. Likely just an unintentional interaction on Eclipse [4] and higher. Would not be surprised if patched, but I like having something like this to deal with the fight consistently when the game is already hard enough on these difficulties.

Yes. It applies a "curse" of 10% or more (shaped glass applies a curse of 50% with one stack). Spinel tonic afflictions also remove osp, as well as the permanent damage I'm pretty sure.

1) nobody quite knows but it's based more on hit dmg than # of hits 2) headstomper negates fall dmg 3) bleed was the vast majority of my overall dmg & using orbital would have actually lowered my dps. plus, on the last phase, the boss has my microbots (Cap's passive that destroys projectiles) and the strikes would have been instantly deleted anyway

So does permanent damage get rid of your OSP? I am assuming it is running like the curse mechanic where it after a certain amount of it it strips your OSP.

With 1.0 proc coefficient, max is 7 (7*15 = 105%) but Cap's m1 has .75 proc co, so 15 goes to 11.25 (75% of 15), making 9 the cap (9*11.25 = 100%)

does the movement speed buff to enemies make it not possible to just ignore all the enemies on the way to mithrix like normal? because of perma damage i dont know why you would bother to fight the chimera at all.
