Since I'm a huge fan of the Phantom menace, I absolutely loved jedi power battles. The game was hard, but it didn't come to us as well as the children in their 90s, as we were used to the higher difficulty. I finished the game several times as a child. most of the time, the game crashed me at the end of the final duel at the abyss with darth maul. I always liked to play for Plo Koon and Darth Maul. it was a beautiful time. That game is fantastic. An excellent system of cover for lasers when a person felt that he had a reflection like a Jedi and can repel bolts like Qui Gon. Tatooine and Darth Maul were seriously challenged

That gigantic death caterpillar at the end of level 2, the gungan general boss on level 7 and any time Darth Maul appeared were the absolute worst for me. And the platforming, the droids shooting you out the sky like they said. Idk if the level 7 boss was that general that appears in the film, not boss Nass, but the other one I forget the name of who’s always like “ahhh Jar Jar!….Who’sa been a naughty boy?” or whatever. The Level 6 thug boss wasn’t so bad, because there’s a trick where you can get his AI to make him kill himself and jump off the roof of the tall building lol.

I mostly played this with a friend of mine back then and as a 2 players game it was fun, even though it was hard and it took us LOT of time to finish. We died hundreds of time against Darth Maul. And in the speeder bikes bit. Hated those. Playing it alone was much worse and much more rage inducing. I'm not sure I've ever beat Maul by myself either. I played it until at one point I was able to beat the whole game in a single sitting over several hours on a hot summer day in the valley. I think my biggest criticism was that if you do unlock earth maul and play as him you don’t gain any health or force as you pass levels so you end up with a tiny bar of both compared to any normal character who had completed the game

Just HOW difficult this game is cannot be understated... My brother and I could never make it through the 2nd level over all the years we on/off played this (and we only ever made it as far as the 2nd level ONCE)! That droid boss battle at the end of the first level was wayyyy too much that early on. Jedi Power Battles was insanely ahead of it's time. Played for a good 5+ years straight with bro, always trying to get through levels without any damage, it's largely possible except for a few bits here and there. The platforming jumps are the hardest thing, lots of people make the mistake of double jumping straight away, the trick is to jump, reposition then hit the double, it lets you correct the angles.

I love Jedi Power Battles! I am currently on a replay. I still have the secrets and techniques down after more than six years without playing. I think the thing that bugs me most about the game is that; the most fun unlockable level is "Droidekas," but the only way to unlock it is to beat Level 10 with Plo Koon. Difficulty in this game wasn't defined by which Mode you played in, but rather the character you played as. Qui Gon Jinn is the easiest (but weakest) character. Plo Koon is the hardest (and seemly second-weakest) character. I know my stuff when it comes to this game, and I struggle IMMENSELY playing the last level with Plo Koon. But what an awesome challenge!

I used to play this game cooperatively loads with a friend on playstation. Not mentioned in the video is the collection of experience to unlock "abilities/combos". The way I remember it is that you could save your character and use an experienced character in a fresh playthrough, a bit like diablo. I do remember it as fairly hard, but not super hard. Maybe I just loved the game. I think it was the gaining experience that tipped into wanting to play this over and over. I always wanted them to make more games/levels to keep playing my character. Way better than review scores in my opinion.

However i replayed and finally completed this a few years ago on emulator and thoroughly enjoyed it. The platforming was awful, and still is. But the combat was surprisingly intuitive and well designed after climbing the rather steep learning curve This game's primary issue is the same as many old games, it's far too punishing on Death, especially for those buggy platforming sections. I was stuck on Level 6 for so long I’d get frustrated then stop playing but finally like a year ago I passed it & I stg I was so happy 💀 ironically level 7, 8, & 9 were easy lol but gets hard again at level 10. The maze was confusing at times but eventually I beat it as Mace Windu. Not sure if I wanna try to beat it again with all of the other characters.

I really liked the game as a kid. It was certainly hard, but I managed to beat the game as Obi Wan, Almost beat it as Adi and Qui-Gon and technically did as Mace Windu, buy the game glitched right after killing Darth Maul so I had restart the game and it didn't count since I wasn't able to save. I was obsessed with deflecting blasters back at enemies that I got pretty good at it. In fact did you know when a droid gets dismembered and you pause the game the piece of the droid that was flying off keeps on flyting till it hits the the edge of the screen then does it's little blow up animation? At least my copy did that.
