Another tip that will save you is that if you block just before the blaster bolts hit you, you'll reflect them back. Essential for any gun weilding enemy.

There actually is a lock on! One tip that changed how I play this game and made it soo much easier is the lock on! R1 locks on and allows you to actually fight enemies instead of flailing around. You can also block just before the blasts hit you to reflect them at the sender

Star Wars nerd here 🤓 at 6:30 I believe that art is supposed to evoke Qui-Gon's portable holoprojector. And the the disc is the iconic hologram blue. It's presenting like the disc is being "projected" right to you! I miss when designing packaging had this much effort in it 😢

This was originally my Dad’s game but it quickly became THE game I played. We didn’t have a memory card though so I basically became a professional speed run gamer at the age of 5. Loved playing as Qui-Gon and Plo Koon. Would love to get a copy of the game and play with my younger sister.

Played this a TON back in the day on the PS1. Beat Maul with everyone except Plo Koon. Last year I finally defeated him with Plo Koon. It was a feeling like no other. Absolutely STOKED they are re-releasing this!

This game getting a remaster was a huge surprise to me. I played this game all the time growing up with my dad and brother. I play through it frequently and I always played Plo Koon. The game made him so cool and he became my favorite Jedi because of it. Only ever had the PS1 version growing up

I never actually beat this game myself growing up but my mom and dad did, so we had a save on our ps1 memory card that had beaten it. I beat if for the first time just over a year ago, I found my childhood copy and a PS1 for $30 at a local retro game store. The Darth Maul final level was a huge pain as Plo Koon. 😂 I tend to comment throughout the video so I don't forget any thoughts I had. So, sorry to kinda spam any notifications you have here haha. QUI-GIN JINN was my favorite! This game was a bit difficult but as a kid there was a sort of rhythm to it. Best it many times and love it till this day, also have my PS1 complete case and Manuel love it.

I'd like to share a story about this specific game. My best friend and I were at his house playing coop while his dad was at work. With minor struggles we made it to the darth maul fight at the end. We had at least 2 hours of dying to this thing. We got to a point where I died and he was alive. We got to maybe 1 hit left on the boss and died. He got pissed and kicked his door. The door broke off the hinges and fell down the basement stairs. We propped it up and acted like nothing happened. When his dad got home he went to open the basement door and it again fell down the stairs and we started laughing.

Oh man. So many hours playing this. Me and a friend beat it and unlocked everything, which meant replaying every level multiple times with each character... Such a grind. And it was so buggy. I remember falling through the floor randomly on tatooine. And one time we were fighting darth maul and it glitched and a second darth maul came onscreen from the wrong side of where he normally spawned. And then respawned in a section he didn't normally appear in. Good times. I'd like to be entered to win! Loved the trip down memory lane!

I loved this game as a kid. My friend and I would play coop all the time. We didn't deal with the difficulty because we used gameshark for unlimited health and lives and other stuff. I remember it would cause the game to make an enemy invincible every so often but we treated it as an extra challenge to knock him off the level or run away. We found out years later it was the infinite grenade code that did it. Also this game made me a Plo Koon fan. I know the retconned his saber to Blue but I will always prefer his yellow/orange saber.

I was only able to beat stage 6 as I forgot if it was Aida or Plot. I could only beat up to Tatooine as everyone but one jump where those probe droid looking foes snipe me, making me fall to my death. I needed one of the two for barrier or Stimpack's flinch resist.

I think a lot of folks just played the PS1 version, and missed out on the Dreamcast version that wasn't nearly as bad. Looks like the re-release is largely based on that version.

@@EzrasJunkyard So a lot of players champion the Square-square-X combo on Maul, but I personally just never got the rhythm for that technique. My preferred strategy was to lock on to Maul with R1, walk backwards and keep hitting X-X when he's either about to attack or just walking towards me, a well timed X-X can interrupt his attack and land a blow. Also worth mentioning a tip someone else gave me; take a single step in Maul's direction before hitting X-X, this seemingly increases the chance of a direct hit, but also be ready to bounce backwards if he blocks. Make good use of Plo's electric judgement, it almost always lands a direct hit on Maul (each fight with him is based on a specific amount of hits) and is a good thing to unleash if he starts whaling on ya. Make sure you grab the Lightsaber extension pickup before the blue bridge fight, you can get some easy hits on him with this at a distance. On the catwalk fight where he just stands and shoots lightning, slowly edge towards him using just X-X, no d-pad, this when timed correctly lands a quick, cheap blow on him, otherwise use Plo's lightning if he blocks it. Finally, at the very end, don't follow Maul into the room Naboo specifically built for an epic fight, let him chase you back into the corridor; I do this because there's so much more space to keep doing the X-X combo and run away if he starts a combo.

Funnily enough, I was having more luck with the XX combo. Similar to you. At the end of my series, I had to bail and I ended up doing this big finale where obi wan came to save the day. But it’s always bugged me that I had to do that… I’m going to revisit it and I’ve taken a screenshot of your comment. Dreamcast version was great, and I loved this game. But I also hate this game. This was the first time you saw Plo Koon fight and they gave him yellow force lightning, which is completely lore breaking, and ever since then. dumbass eu fans have wanted this to be canon, and some even mistakenly say it is canon, but it is not. This was the first appearance.
