Well, there are at the same category. The build quality of the urbanites is stunning and the sound quality is much better than the beats (exept from the solos2, which are actually good headphones) I personally like the looks of the beats better, but for sound & build quality i prefer the urbanites. I also find them more comfortable.

Everything you just said was entirely correct. Very detailed upper range, and a pinch more of well-behaved bass when compared to the Sennheiser Momentum. Thankfully my pair did not come with a hinge defect. In fact, this pair is probably the most well-made pair of headphones I have ever seen. Ever.

The ear pads are advertised by lots of suppliers on the net which leads me to think they wear out quickly, and they actually wear out in about a year they seem to rot away, I have a pair of Audio Technica ATH911 s about 28 years old as good as new !

Just got these for 45% off! Had to get them but they are I device model and I own android but I buy for listening. I must admit, my initial listen didn't impress me. However, very soon after they began to open up and seemed to increase in volume/sensitivity. I am actually quite pleased as they aren't as bassy as I had imagined and found them to have extremely good quality bass(fast and precise yet powerful), nor are they as warm as I had imagined. Perhaps because all the reviews mention this and my expectation was much more than it really was. The sound stage and imaging are also quite good as is the ability to block outside noise. So far so good and look forward to them being fully broken in(something I didn't expect because of the other reviews). While I do like the looks that really is not important to be but what is is build quality and durability. I am really tired of having my portable IEM or headphones die after a year. I have had some that were known to be well made yet they all died such as my V Moda M80- one ear piece suddenly died. Panasomic HJE900 IEM -this is made with a zirconium body and removable cables yet they too had a driver die then my Yamaha EPH 100 had /has issues with a driver lowering its output to nearly quiting them to be crackling and finally sounding like crap with distortion. All of these were built tough yet failed. Frankly I am sick of it considering they are all higher end portables. We shall see with these but this time they have a 2 year warranty and I will ensure I keep the box etc should they fail. I would just like to add that I found a very good headphone that is full size circum closed that could be used portably but are a bit big, they are the Soundmagic HP100/150. Same price as these but sound better and are one of the best. They get extremely good reviews and deserve it.

Love your videos! If you make a XL review, wish i think it would not be very long because the diferences to this headphones wouldnt be that many, can you instead compare it to the AKG K 550? More or less similar priced and i cant decided between them, ty.

When you say "slight" bass boost (compared to normal Senns), do you really mean slight? I imagined these would sound very similar to the Senn Momentums, if not using the exact same driver. A litter more bassy version of those would be great, if nothing else is compromised, but I don't want another full on basehead set of cans because I already have V Modas for that, and I'd be extremely surprised if these beat V Modas in terms of bass-heavy headphones given the price. I would want something more versatile and clean/clear like the Momentums, but with a little more bassy/warm tone.

I don't think they are similar to Momentum, in fact they might sound a bit worse than Momentum based on Linus Tech tips review because the reduced details of mids, which said, if sennheiser makes a new version of Momentum in the Urbanites design it might be a real killer.

I'd say that "slight" bass boost was compared to the Momentums. I have a pair of Urbanites, and they sound SLIGHTLY (and I mean that in the slightest way possible) more bassy. Slightly.

I love my momentums. You were able to adjust the ear pressure my simply bending the metal band in or out. I wonder if you can do that with these.

Do you think this one has better sound quality than sony wireless headset which was designed for playstation (bass impact model - not the blue one) I am looking to a travel headset and my sony is too big for that purpose. But I am so pleased with the sound quality of it. When it is using its battery, I mean when it is on, It is just perfect but when it is off I can't say the same. Now this sennheiser does not have internal power, it uses the phone's battery and I just can't be sure how it performs if it is running on little power because my sony sucks when it is out of battery. I have Samsung Note 4 btw. Any comment would be appreciated.

should i buy these type of headphones or dj headphones for out and about that are like on ear? i know not to get monitoring headphones as i find my m40x to be too clear in everything, the bass sounds flat and clear to me and certain wavy bass sounds dont stand out in certain tracks with my 2i2 focusrite. i listen to hip hop.

I got these. They can be had for cheap now on Amazon. I think the only reason these have not been a hit is they just aren't popular with the target audience /Beats crowd due to looks but I don't mind the looks. The build quality is very good but have had issues with the cable but have yet to have any portable without that issue. I disagree with the conclusion that these are bad for low quality recordings, the bass on these is extremely good quality, speedy, taut and not boomy. Perhaps it the recording. The bass on these is a strength and I feel it's just right in quantity too not being overwhelming and seamless with the typically great Sennheiser mids. The highs are definitely tamed but I suspect this was intentional to sound better on low quality recordings and to allow higher volume listening typical of portable use. Soundstage and imaging are meh. It's somewhat wide but little depth or up down. While I agree this is on the darker side on sound signatures, I was pleased that it wasn't as dark as I had been lead to believe. Oh, they are quite comfortable too. I have had 2 other similar priced headphones, the V Modano M80s and Soundmagic Hp100. The Urbanite is decidedly better than the M80s but the Soundmagic is on another level honestly. My source is the LG v10 with the ESS DAC and amp. This system is known for big Soundstage and a detailed/more analytical sound which compliments the warmer Urbanite.

I want to order them from a website from my country and it doesn't specify if it is for android or for IOS, just in case i get the one for IOS will it still work on android and windows?

António Real I have the more popular IOS version but use Android and they do work but the remote is limited. But not by much I can still stop and play with the main button as well as answer calls.Get it. Another good thing abot these is that the cable can be replaced which I had to do eventually because I regularly ripped them out of my phone working which eventually toasted the original cable. Nice not having to replace the entire headphone because a cable shorted.

schlooonginator Thanks a lot man, i was scared to order one pair because the vendor doesn't specify if it's android or IOS, since i use android/windows i was scared to get a IOS version and not work. Good to know man, might order them next month, sennheiser is pretty good in that aspect, not having to fix the entire headphones.

Bear Armz Generalizing a company based on (I assume) one headphone, the M50, is not really a good recommendation. As for OP, I cannot specifically recommend something as not only genre is needed but it also depends how you do like your music to sound like (if that makes sense...).
