Geez, case is absolutely massive. If I'd say what I would do in that case is 1 main stream PC that's used for regular uses, gaming, watching vids, editing etc, and the other to be a streaming PC because some people have a separate PC to stream. That's just what I would do. Love your vids Dimitri, keep up the great work you're almost at that million!!

@benmadelaine6 жыл бұрын
I think it's too gigantic. I can't see for who it's made for... Two systems in one case and there is still place to be filled, if you go for air cooled system. Yes it's especially made for extreme watercooling systems but at what cost ? 500$ is ok for this case. Maybe reducing it's size on the top and the front with the same layout and you have the almost perfect full tower case. A purple build ? AMD Threadripper on EATX mobo (ASUS Zenith) and Intel 8700k on the miTX tray. Red and blue makes purple. And that's a good match. As usal a very cool video Dimitri !

@benmadelaine6 жыл бұрын
I don't think many streamers can afford this type of machine, and I think plenty of them want to stream and play with the same machine. I still think this case is a showcase (as it was for Computex 2017) for high end watercooling machines. IMHO.
@MuShinnen6 жыл бұрын
I know plenty of streamers that could afford a build like this. More and more of them are making the switch to having a dedicated streaming system, and a dedicated gaming system to reduce heat, and improve the quality of their streams. There are also enthusiasts with the money to do it. I was looking at getting the Enthoo Elite for just this purpose, but I do like the way this case has everything set up. And yes, that's exactly the purpose of the case, to be a high end watercooling machine, so in the end you kind of answered your own question in regards to who this case is for. It's for anyone who wants to build a high end water cooled machine.

Wow this Corsair 1000D looks really fun to build a custom water loop in. The Corsair Obsidian 'D' series line up like the 750D and 900D has been infamously used for custom water loop builds by Pc enthusiasts, known for its rigid all Steel premium material and spacious design has made the Obsidian D-Series the "Go-To" for serious high end, Full-Tower(ATX) Custom water-loop builds. I myself, have built my first build with the Corsair 750D(air flow edition) and was excellent and very pleasant to build in. It looks like Corsair really put a lot of thought into the design with this 1000D, I really like the dual 120mm, rear exhaust mounts and french doors which is new and unique. I always looked at the Obsidian D series more for its Function, but with the new trend of Tempered Glass that Corsair has added for both front and back for the 1000D will able to let you show your extreme beautiful bends and loops. With all that space and capable of adding 6 intake fans in the front! Will most def' be keeping your system cool. I will be really looking forward to what custom water-cooling build enthusiasts will be creating with this Corsair 1000D case. Achtung~"Glorious Master PC-Race"!!

@MariosKarampalis6 жыл бұрын
is to big and the motherboards are not back to back vertically, as a normal case, that's why i said mirrored atx motherboards. Also i dont need water cooling, just many air fans. Is there a case like that?
@JamesSmith-hg2rt6 жыл бұрын
i dont think the manufacturers want to make a 2nd version of every motherboard that is mirrored just to fit a specific case. it would make things confusing having a left or right orientation motherboard to choose. i know there is BTX motherboard layout which is mirrored but that is obsolete. unless im not understanding what you mean.

- no fans included - no aluminum body/panels - non removable drive cage in 2018? - entire floor of this huge case is wasted - top 120 mm compatible bracket sold separately - frame so light and unbalanced opening the glass door makes the case tip over (second Corsair case like this) no wonder it's half the price of the Enthoo Elite. it has half the stock radiator support, is made cheaper and has no included fans. the Elite comes with all the bracket options, adapters and accessories in the box. so out of box rad support in this 1000D is two 480's, a 420 and a 120/140 on the rear? am I crazy or does this case have less rad support than the 900D? that was two 480's, two 240/280's and a 120/140 out of the box. this case makes you appreciate the ridiculously priced Enthoo Elite and Caselabs cases for not half assing it. Corsair should stay in their lane.

glad I could shed some light for you. lately it seems we can add Corsair to the list with Antec and Cooler Master, using a good name they earned with past great products to sell poorly thought out and poorly implemented cases to people who still trust in their name value. this is just the latest and biggest blunder since the 780T (a huge case that holds less rad volume than Corsair's own smaller full towers the 750D and 760T). like Cooler Master is known for, Corsair are prioritizing shiny looking exteriors over internal functionality and flexibility.

- Many people prefer the looks of the 1000d to the enthoo elite because of the full glass casing -Radiator support in this case is actually 2x 480mm and 2x 360mm - with push pull (you'd have to buy the extra bracket for the top, its 10$); enthoo elite has something like 4x 480mm rad support -1000d is significantly cheaper -One thing I didnt like about the 1000d is the window tint - why would they do that!??! When it comes to cases like this...we approach enthusiast builds - people stop caring about purchasing extra brackets or fans because this is usually what they build their dream case in.

A gaming setup for the ITX system and for the top build having a server build would be pretty epic. Something like VMware ESXi/Proxmox/XenServer running VM's like FreeNAS to control most of the storage, pfSense for a badass router, and a windows VM with a GPU and a USB controller being passed through for the workstation VM comes to mind for like an editing/rendering box or stream capture comes to mind. Would make for a relatively compact beast of a system.
@movax20h6 жыл бұрын
Interesting case. Not for me tho. I would prefer a bit smaller system, no need for second PC, too much glass, would prefer different (meshed with option for some 5.25 bays, for fans or disk array or fan controller) front and solid sides. Not a fan of Corsair commander pro in the set either. It is elevates a price unnecessarily, and it doesn't really work with Linux or BSD at this time (but people are tryingto make it work). I am leaning towards Thermal take Core WP1000, but it is not longer available in Europe.

I'm speechless. I saw this chassis at Computex last year and it was honestly massive. Seeing it with "ordinary" hardware inside really makes you understand how GARGANTUAN (God, I love this word so much xD) the 1000D is. How about hardline tubing for those systems? And maybe NO mechanical hard drives? NVMe+PCIe only to make it the most silent dual build ever?

I cant find the follow up video. Did you do a water cool build in the 1000D?

I would go full circle on this build and go with any rgb. TG looks good when it's just being shiny too

is it possible to use 60mm thick rad push pull in front of the case?

My only suggestion for a case build is this: imagining the “ultimate” streamer set up. The main system being Intel Coffee Lake, while the system that handles the “stream” being whatever you want. Ryzen 2. Previous generation Intel or AMD. But basically the idea is the perfect machine for a streamer (or anyone who runs two PC’s). One case saves space.

1: Save yourself the headache down the road and leave the ITX board attached to the shroud. 2: Use the front reset lead to connect the ITX PWR header (Did this by mistake on my first built but it still worked despite switching the two) then put the ATX+ITX reset headers on the back 3: Go batshit crazy, a system like this BEGGING to be decked to the 9's in absurd bling, it's a functional concept case with stellar form, roll with it ;) Damnit all I can't wait for mine to ship already lol.

Yups, Dmitri, you are on the right track, full custom loop, dual 1080 Ti (or triple but how good does 3 way sli work these days?) And some epic processor (x299 or x399). Great video, thanks!
