I think it still a good jack. As soon as you said you were going to jack up the tractor in grass I thought it would sink. Then you said it had rained I knew it was going down. It would work good on a borad or some thing. Still a good video.

I got the Badlands jack had it for over a year now. I do my own repairs this jack is a game changer offroad and dirt drive ways plus have a 6'lift. My old Pittsburgh just can't roll in dirt plus the 6'lift sometimes I need the extension for the rear differential depending on angle. Go with Badlands you won't regret it only thing is it is heavy and the handle/rope is in an awkward place there are kits and videos showing how to make that different to suit your needs me I'm wait til it breaks and I usually man handle it by grabbing the whole thing I'm a small guy and pulling up on the handle rope just isn't for me lol.😅😂

Wow you are really jacking it up. I would never jack my car up that high or even need to. My parking area is gravel and my old floor jacks work just fine. One is a big Crafstman jack that I move around on a moving dolley to make it easier, my other is a smaller floor jack I can easily pull over the gravel. Never have an issue with them sinking in the gravel. I would never even attempt to use them on grass. I cant see needing new floor jacks, these old ones are fantastic.

Really good review. It seems design wise a center pivot on the bogies, metal wheel plus wider track might benefit wieght distrbution, ability to roll on rough surfaces and overall durability. It woud also add to the cost of an already expensive tool and the wieght. I have to agree, it is a cool looking tool!

Thanks for doing a video on the jack. I would have concerns about sand and or mud getting in to the tracks and making it difficult to move. I think I like the big polymer wheels on the Badlands jack a little more.

Heath, couldn't you bring 1 wheel to a machine shop and have 8 wheels either made of steel or thordon then your jack would be even better, interesting video and a good demonstration of the machine thanks for sharing.

I’m sure you could, but not sure how much that would cost. I ended up returning it after a little more testing, looks cool, nice concept but I think it could have been executed better.
@joeydelgado611915 күн бұрын
Very similar in design to HF Badlands Off Road Jack (which I own) but with tracks. Based on what I see here on the video the Badlands is better in multiple ways and it is less expensive. For one, the bottom of the Badlands has a flat bottom that helps prevent the jack from sinking into soft ground. The only thing that can make the Badlands jack better would be larger wheels, but it does pretty good with what it has IMHO.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors15 күн бұрын
Good to know. I ended up returning this Jack. May try the badlands.

Yeah the plastic wheels are concerning. I think the tracks could be wider too. All in all it’s nice but could use some improvements. Great video.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors24 күн бұрын

@Urbicide3 күн бұрын
A machinist could easily fabricate new wheels out of steel. The "tracks" are an off-the-shelf cog belt turned inside out.
@Digidoc3162 күн бұрын
Plastic wheels are a hinderance but not a deal breaker. I would be more concerned with the piviot point front and rear. Instead of putting the piviot in the center, allowing each end of the track to float up and down, they chose to extend one axle and have the track carrier piviot around that point. If the track piviot was centered, it wouldn't have burrowed into the grass during the tractor lift test. Another benifit is that the track will extend beyond the piviot point providing more stability.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors2 күн бұрын
I agree 100%. I ended up returning the jack. Cool concept but poorly executed I’ll be doing a follow up video soon.
@mrdude2702Күн бұрын
Looking at the video closely, I'd say that jack is made by the same company that makes the Badlands "off road" jack. The only difference was the track. Even the axle shaft looked the same, and the Badlands jack has plastic wheels too. I think the Badlands jack is (or was when I bought it) running for only $300.
@hardworkingmanoutdoorsКүн бұрын
I think the Badlands jack may be a little better built.

Just for a tire change on the tractor, the jack was raised just high enough to change the tire. Two safety jacks, good to go.

Hello Heath And Rachel the cheap plastic wheels would make me question the actual steel it’s made of. Reminds me of DR junk.👍🇺🇸
@stephenreiner152325 күн бұрын
I liked the design of the jack but when you pulled them off and I saw the plastic I said oh no that should have been a cast steel part. Of course any jack on wet turf is going to sink down as you are lifting. After I saw the plastic in that bearing I was like why couldn't they have made that out of steel? It did well lifting on gravel but for $400.00 everything should have been made from hardened steel. That's always an issue with any floor jack the conditions you're lifting it under and sod is a no go because of the permeability of the surface tension. Overall how much stress will that plastic take before it cracks. Unfortunately you can't pick and choose when and where you're going to need to jack a heavy piece of equipment up. That's just the nature of the beast, but thank you and your better half for taking the time to make this video for us. Content means a lot as does diversity. So, I will always say to all of you who take the time out of your day to share with us something new that it is much appreciated by me and Heath I would never even think to say you wear a dress even though that would make it a very entertaining video if Rachel could hold the camera still long enough to get through the video. Thanks guys and always appreciated.

So, it is a common failure for most people using a jack. It is safe to place the vehicle in neutral when jacking any vehicle. It allows the jack to remain stationary and pull the center mass above the jack's center. Please be safe and never leave a car in park when jacking.

@johnhighberger27622 күн бұрын
Great idea but as soon as I saw that the each track only has one shaft connected to the jack frame that pivots, I knew it wouldn’t work. Each track only has one pressure point. The tracks need to be connected on both ends to distribute the load over the length of the track. Typical marketing crap by companies with no real engineering thought behind it.
