The thing is as chip, having to watch this and see bolt, stylo, wrighty and jme ect cameo in this vid just adds salt in the wound. As a Jamaican man seeing two Jamaican legends in the cut, and an arsenal fan seeing an arsenal legend there too is just peak
This tune is cold. The video one of the coldest ever. But.... In a clash ALL that matter is BARS and if you want to purely go off of that topic of pure skill and ability to rap I don't think he's winning this at all

I rate stormzy and I think this is perhaps the most versatile he’s ever sounded but let’s be real, the guy had to do a 7 min track to prove that he can spit. I think that people are overlooking something quite important here. Stormzy has presented himself and this song as a message about black Britain’s success journey. The song mentions foundations that were laid but people forget this was the same guy that was dissing Wiley. In fact, in this same song he mentions ‘washed up godfathers’. Again, this is the same brother that, while he was publicly supporting Black Lives Matter, turned up at another man’s yard with strangers; violating where a man and his family live. And it wasn’t any random man’s yard; it was a fellow black man who has contributed (laid foundations) to the success that black British music is enjoying now. Rather than speak to the people about what’s really going on, stormzy puts out a song and basically says: “look. I’ve got money and connections. I’m a successful black man repping the culture. But you see the madness that I done, I ain’t gonna say nothing about that. I’m not taking any responsibility whatsoever. Why? Because I’m the guy. I answer to no one. And you all should stand by me” And guess what, people seem to be rallying behind him and cheering ‘he’s won’! We have to understand that for stormzy there was no ‘win’. He wasn’t gonna win in a clash against chip, and he wasn’t gonna get any more push for his music because he’s a bigger artist than chip and he didn’t have any new music coming out. For stormzy it was all about keeping his image as the face of black British music. So his team got together and decided to let the dust settle, go as big as they can and to paint it as black as they can. This whole video is a huge PR move. I guess I just hate how easily it’s worked. I am disappointed that someone can disrespect his own peer on such a deep level and as a people we sit back in cheerful approval like “yeah yeah stormzy. You’re the guy.” because he’s got maurinho in the cut.

I heard some twisting in my life, but this is on another level. Jus couple of points to untwist: Wiley started the beef not Stormzy, Stormzy gave him shout out on many of his tracks, so for Wiley to turn on him like he did, he deserved Stormzy' annihilation. Stormzy pulling to chip yard- all we know about this is one sided. We don't know why he went there, nor what happened there really. What caused it? What did Chip do before that moment? I don't know and you don't know, but your bias is strong. Plus, if what happened was that bad, why did Chip wait for 6 months to release the yard video - just as his album was due. Sorry, but the story is full of holes. Stormz has done a lot for Grime and made it popular. He took his well deserved money and did a lot of good with it, from paying for black kids to go to uni they couldn't afford, to helping those not as fortunate. He is always there to support other artists and bring them up. He supported Jeremy Corbyn when he was getting a lot of stick. So yeah he is actually a good guy and great face of black British music. Plus nobody can create a hit like Stormzy. He would've helped Chip if he asked him, but Chip opted for beef. Yeah beef can be fun in grime, but 4-5 tracks just appear to be a desperate move x4, esp when you are ignored. I hope 🍟 doesn't reply now again, and concentrate on his own career more.

Wisdom seems to be chasing you...we can see you are upset...however please minimise your ignorance as often people, as am sure you are aware, will always tell you what you did but never what triggered the actions you so succinctly espouse. Sit down and appreciate the crisp cultural clips I beg!
@bonsam2 жыл бұрын
@@djladygeeI wasn’t raising the question of whether or not Chip was right in releasing the video and using it to promote his project. Thats a discussion being held at a different table. You’re right; we don’t know what triggered stormzy’s actions. We only have half the picture which has been painted to favour chip. But notice how in all of this No one from stormzy’s camp has come out to even attempt to deny what happened or to even say that it’s not what we think it is. Not a report of a lawsuit for public slandering. Nothing. Were they all shamefully aware of what had happened but didn’t want to draw anymore attention to it by engaging with Chip? We don’t know. Deep stormzy’s words from the song clash: “slipped round after his birthday, gave him a happy belated one, burn that bridge cremated one. Boom. Bailiff one. Got away with murder this that viola davis one” And then his words on this song: “they wanna hear me spill it all to zeze. F that, you n**gas didn’t know I was greasy” I don’t know what you make from those lyrics but to me it sounds like stormzy’s got this attitude of ‘i did it. so what?!’ As you point out, stormzy is regarded as a good guy (even better than good). He’s given so much back and no one can ever knock what he’s done. He’s the guy we all hold up for the youth them to look up to. Imagine stormzy addressing the youth on the need to stop black on black violence. Do you not think his audience might be thinking: “yo big Mike, you pulled up at a man’s yard and you ain’t said nothing about that one still” All I’m saying is, if you’re held in such a light and there has been a shadow cast upon your image and character, there’s a much deeper conversation that needs to be had rather than “I’ve got millions and I’ll put gyal on a flight if her ting’s tight”

@@ruche6460 if wisdom is busy chasing me does that not suggest that you don’t have it either? Anyways, let’s move past that. I’m not dissing the video, it’s a brilliant piece of art. I’m just disappointed at how they’ve glossed over what to me is an important issue in today’s world.

Stormzy basically said his pronouns are I'm/him lmao It's most likely not this but it'd be pretty interesting if what project he gives us is part one or "phase one" and he gives us another later (you mentioned an artist did this before in an older reaction)

I don't follow Usain Bolt nor have I ever seen him outside the context of track. He looks different from when I last saw him because aging is a thing.

You want people to pause and explain that??? You want people to explain a person's name being said while they're on screen? You for real? AND I literallllllllllllllyyyy called this exact thing out @ 24:54
